This Day is Mine

This Day is Mine

A Poem by Kristin Lee
"

The Gods will wish my mind returned to clay

"

From the dawn of time exploration has sparked inspiration

Crafting the joys and sorrows of absolute expression

I’ve decided to claim this day

It is mine.  All Mine!

The Gods will wish my mind returned to clay

For without fear I will tout their hidden secrets

Every one they thought they left untold

With this magic pen made of gold

Its swift sails are filled with wind

Derived from all the glorious inspiration I can find!

Inspiration comes from many different places. I quite liked the feeling of this write, just what I needed this morning; something upbeat to take with me out the door. You manage to hit a high note somewhere near the last three quarters of the piece, in my opinion. I like the idea of the golden pen that will tell all of the secrets of this world. Beautiful pictures too, by the way.

A great poem about inspiration. I love how you say the God are going to regret giving you such inspiration! You're going to challenge the traditional thinking of things, and isn't that what all writers want to do? I love the connection between you and the whole world in the beginning, you're telling everyone that today is your day! Very nice poem with good flow. :)

You've planted your flag and seized all the day has to give. What a wonderful dose of positivity! This is really well done and I thank you for that. Love the pictures too.

Thank you! For all my dark musings, I do have a positive overture or two ;)
Your words paint a pretty fine picture of written distinctive curiosity involving what makes the present day you've claimed so special. Great write. :)

A well inspired and spirited write. As writers we are explorers and innovators to an extent and our pens can indeed be mighty!
