My Child

the feeling of having a baby and the happiness it can bring

kicking and squirming
i feel you inside
of me
your tiny now
yet you seem to
grow and grow
you know when i am sad
angry or happy
i always feel a kick
to knock me into my senses
to know we are a part of each other
and on that day we finally meet
you cry for cold
or happiness to be alive
i will never know which
all i will know is you my child
my life and blood
you were created through the happiness
and love that i get to share you with
you will brighten my day
with the smiles you give
and steel peoples heart for the love you will share
but for now
you are my baby
you are the light that will shine through
my darkest moments.
