Halloween ....trick or treat..

Pumpkins carved into scary,

spooky ghouls or monsters.

With a candlelight shining

from inside.

In the dark, it glows.

So bright and stands out.

Loud and clear.

Trick or treaters,

laughing and joking as

they pass by.

Knocking on neighbours

doors.

Looking for some free candy.

Mums and dads watching from a

short distance away.

Checking that their young are safe.

As they do this old tradition. When

the kids go door to door.

Front lawns decorated with spiders

webs.  Halloween creepy crawlies

with skeletons to scare the poor souls

away with fright. Or maybe even make them

laugh out loud. If they are not so easily scared.

Lollipops, chocolate bars, Chews and treats.

Are given to fill their buckets to the brim.

Back home they check with their parents to make sure they are safe to eat.
And behind mum's back, they try to eat the lot,

before bedtimes come to go to bed.
