happy new year to all...this is my first of 2018 ..hope you enjoy reading .. like the previous years..i seek your constructive input

Transient Things

Brown, leather lazy boy .........

comfort.

Worn to fit and

knitted, yellow afghan hanging 

black roosters in squares crowing ........

Wild horse winds with 

death ...riding the flying dust

Sweeping clean.

It takes.

I pull the straining rope all day

My hands calloused companions as

time whittles the soft fragrant pine.

My long fingers of decision 

Chips .........

falling away.

Red, yellow, umber burnt

caress the damp and sky

Mother's clear blue twinkles' gleam

She had no need for words 

she spoke language.

These transient things

They are so real.

That's why poets use, as a meridian of sacrifice, all the axes of memory to allow the crossing of un-related events to become power: a mothers wisdom, the fragrance of hemlocks, wild horses.

This is so heartfelt, moving, I was thinking what You were really painting with Your words, then I saw memories floating softly in the air, I saw a little boy standing, looking at, holding to his precious little things, flying, twinkling like stardust... this poem is precious with its meaning and personal touch.

again, Happy New Year, it's a pleasure that I've met You, may the new year holds so many of wondrous gifts for You and all Your loved ones.

Light .. i am enjoying getting to know you as well .. and your remarks are quite precious too ... i am kind of humbled by them ... i love the images this brought to you ..and the feelings ... there is a bit of "soft" from my growing up years in it and i appreciate that you see that .. I see that lazy boy and afghan, and they are very comforting indeed!

There is little wrong with the transient items that bring us comfort. We all have them to one extent or anther.

thank you so much Karen! i feel gratified to the hilt ..and that you point out those lines as they are the center of the "comfort" in my intent .. my mom really did knit me that afghan .. when i was about 14 or so .. and it is still to this day (about 55 yrs later) in a very new like state .. i have it downstairs and it keeps me warm as i watch TV and fall asleep on the couch ... again... thank you for reading and for letting me know what you think ..
