Give Me A Reason To Stay

Give Me A Reason To Stay

A Poem by Nicole Schuster
"

for anyone questioning.

"
I don't understand
This is what I wanted
I wanted this
So badly

We both wanted this
And we finally gave in
To what felt right for us

And for a while
It was great
I had everything I wanted
I saw a future
I was happy

But now I'm miserable

Please
Give me a reason to stay
Make me stop feeling empty around you

Promise me that we can have a happy future
Tell me
That things will get better
Back to the way they were

Make me believe
That I'll feel what I used to
Again for you

I don't see any of that ahead
All I have is doubt
I'm empty with you

Give me a reason to stay

I can't find one

Author's Note

Nicole Schuster
I thought I knew what I wanted. But then when I got it, it wasn't everything I had hoped for. It's true what they say - be careful what you wish for. They just forgot part of it - be wary when you finally get it. Hopefully some people can relate.

This happens more than most of us care to admit. I can relate to this. Thanks for sharing

Honest words demanding answers. We must ask these questions to ensure we are wanted.

Awh... I'm sorry. Yet somewhat relieved. You can move on now. Which is good. Moving on is a good thing! :)
