I completely agree with you! However, addiction is not always a bad thing. I’m addicted to love…I have to have it, all the time and I have to give it all the time. Addiction has such a negative connotation and it’s understandable. Many people have suffered as a result of some addiction. I refuse to see it as a negative, the only addiction I want in my life is the good kind :D

i guess this poem i give 'addiction' a negative connotation because it is indeed dark for me in terms of addicting things... for i believe everything comes in moderate dosage.. too much is getting greedy...but it terms of love like you say..I believed it is also moderate for i think something you two both love, something you two both share, you give and take, both give space, there is trust...love isn't selfish, love isn't greedy... love gives way even you end up hurting... if your addicted to love is it something that you want all the love you can get...is that greedy or i just think it is....its just my thoughts my friend...I'm not sure i answered your question...

Indeed. Everything should be taken in moderation. You Can have too much of a good thing. It can cause you to begin to take that good thing for granted, and then, you don't fully appreciate it. If that continues on for too long, you can can end up losing that good thing you enjoyed so much.

And then the real pain begins.

A nice statement my friend. Truth may be subjective, but I think this is concrete, worth being written in stone.

hmm...this made me think... for me happiness is easy to attain... maybe because over indulgence on happiness makes you fake...like me I try to be happy to everyone, be positive to everyone...but deep inside I am not....so i think there is a fine balance between things...then moderation comes along...then contentment which is much harder to find...

Contentment... Peace of mind. Here's a thought: if we all chase contentment, if we all are trying to have piece of mind, then why have any other emotion? Can there be an over indulgence of contentment?

I think contentment and indulgence contradict each other don't you think...contentment is sate of being satisfied...and indulgence for me is something you want more...ironice isn't....
emotions are part of ourselves, its the main reason why we live...if we don't have we can be as much as a robot, a machine who walks, talks and works...has no life...no choices because its just program to do a certain tasked then this robot do this on and on until the battery last out...

I like this short blurb you have created, and in a way it's very truthful. Addiction, though, is not necessarily negative. It can be an addiction to something benign or beneficial, say an addiction to literature. Although the word itself does imply negativity, for the most part there is nothing wrong with someone having an addiction. I manage several at once. I like how you end this poem in ellipsis, and I'm still trying to decide weather I'd want to see more here or if it's better being brief as it stands
