Episode 2:

April 15 2023. The day is Saturday.

5 years pass from when Calista moves. The setting starts in a downtown plaza where they have spent their evening. They stumble into a fortune-telling sight and decide to walk in. But before they do Calista stops Talulla and asks her for reassurance.

Calista

Line 1) What are you doing?

Talulla

Line 2) What does it look like? I’m walking into this place.

Calista grabs Talulla by the arm.

Calista

Line 3) This junk? Do you really believe in these kinds of things?

Talulla

Line 4) Not really. But it looks interesting, so let’s just give it a shot.

Calista

Line 5) Fine, it’s your money.

Talulla grins at Calista and drags her into the place.

The place is very urbany and reeks of incense.

Line 6) Calista: Jeez, the incense is pungent.

A bohemian styled lady greets them and urges them to walk in.

Lady

Line 7) Hello girls. Welcome to our place. How may I be of use?

Talulla quickly reads the manuscript above the main desk.

Manuscript reads:

Get your fortune read by our professional, trusty, and skilled teller. Book an appointment today!

  • Fortune-telling: $20

  • Palm-reading: $30

  • Tarot card reading: $35

  • Cleansing ritual: $40

  • Detox supplements: $45

Line 8) Talulla: Dang. Did we have to schedule an appointment to get these done?

Talulla

Line 9) I’ve never been here before. So, I didn’t know you had to schedule an appointment beforehand. Sorry for the inconvenience. We’ll be on our way.

Talulla grabs Calista by the arm.

Lady

Line 10) Oh, don’t mind that outdated information, dear. We can take clients on the spot too.

Talulla

Line 11) Oh… Are you sure?

The lady nods.

Talulla

Line 12) Well then, I’d like to get my fortune told.

Lady

Line 13) Alright, and what about you dear?

The lady shows her hand out to Calista, specifying that she was talking to her.

Calista

Line 14) Oh. Um. I’m just tagging along. I don’t need my fortune read. Besides, I don’t believe in any of this stuff.

The lady playfully acts shocked.

Line 15) Calista: Oops. I didn’t mean to say that outloud.

Lady

Line 16) So, we have a skeptic here, huh?

Talulla

Line 17) In her defense. I also don’t really believe in this stuff…

The lady looked even more shocked and gives a sarcastic gasp.

Talulla

Line 18) Hey, but maybe you can change our minds.

Talulla points at the lady in an empowering way and smirks at her optimistically.

Lady

Line 19) Well hopefully my team and I can enlighten the both of you. Have a seat. The psychic will be with you two shorty. I’ll let you know then.

The lady presents her hands to seats cornered near the area. They didn’t seem like they were there when the two walked in.

Line 20) Calista: Were those chairs here when we walked in?

Line 21) Talulla: Hey! When did those chairs appear?

The girls walk over and sit.Talulla smirks at Calista in a funny way.

Calista

Line 22) What’s that face about?

Talulla

Line 23) Hey party pooper! I’m just excited to be here. We’ve never done anything like this before.

Calista pretends to be excited in a sarcastic way.

Calista

Line 24) Yay! I’ll make sure to cross this off my bucket list! I’ve been dying to go to a place like this.

Talulla

Line 25) Pft! Listen to yourself.

Lady

Line 26) Talulla, our teller is ready to see you.

Talulla was shocked. She hadn’t even told the lady her name, and somehow she knew.

Line 27) Talulla: I’m sure I didn’t tell that lady my name. How did she know?

She got up and so did Calista.

They made their way to the beaded entrance where the psychic sits.

Unlike the front desk lady she looked less bohemian. She looked regular.

But, Talulla was excited regardless because she had a sneaking suspicion that this moment would forever change her life.

Line 28) Talulla: I have a good feeling about this.

The front desk lady blocks her hands when Calista tries to enter.

Lady

Line 29) These things tend to be more private.

Calista stands there unamused.

Line 30)Calista: It’s not that serious. She should just let me pass.

Talulla notices immediately.

Talulla

Line 31) I need some emotional support anyways.

Talulla grabs Calista by the wrist and lets her through with her. The lady notices and unblocks her hand rapidly.

Line 32) Lady: Kids these days. This isn’t a game of some sort.

None of them noticed but a second chair appeared from under the psychics desk.

They both sit down. The psychic takes Talulla’s hands and begins speaking to her.

Psychic

Line 33) Follow my lead and don’t talk during the process. Understand?

Talulla shakes her head in assurance. The psychic’s tone was serious, so she decided to follow her orders.

Line 34) Talulla: Dang this is getting serious.

Line 35) Calista: I should act accordingly.

Psychic

Line 36) What’s your full name?

Talulla

Line 37) Talulla, Alofa, Faletulu.

The psychic closes her eyes, and tightly grips Talulla’s hands.

Psychic

Line 38) Let me enter your mind.

The psychic begins rocking back and forth and humming. Calista looks shocked and confused.

Line 39) Calista: What the heck?

Calista peers at Talulla, but she also has her eyes closed.

Line 40) Calista: I can’t believe she’s playing along to this.

Out of nowhere the psychic dramatically ungrips Talulla’s hands and stops humming and rocking back and forth.

Talulla prys her eyes open, to sense the situation.

Line 41) Talulla: Can I open my eyes?

Psychic

Line 42) You are a very intelligent girl, Talulla.

Talulla grinned on her behalf.

Line 43) Talulla: That’s the stuff. Keep talking!

Psychic

Line 44) You want to live your life to its fullest. But you yearn for change to occur.

Line 45) Talulla: I guess that’s right. What else does she have to say?

Psychic

Line 46) Something life altering…. A situation where you can be useful. A situation in which you come out stronger and better than before.

Talulla knew all this was true.

She nodded her head in assurance.

Calista stood next to her unimpressed.

She thought that she was just saying nice things to fool Tallula.

Line 47) Calista: Please! She’s just saying all the stuff she wants to hear!

Psychic

Line 48) You’re not in a place in your life where you want to get married or settle down.

Talulla gasps. This was all correct.

Line 49) Talulla: Spot on!

She looks at Calista, and Calista was eager to hear more of what the psychic had to say.

Line 50) Calista: Was it a coincidence she got that right?

Psychic

Line 51) But in time, you’ll change your mind.

Line 52) Talulla: Hey, that rhymed!

Psychic

Line 53) You’ll marry a wealthy person, and have two kids. Twins.

Talulla’s eyes spark up.

Line 54) Talulla: Dang, is that really gonna happen?

Psychic

Line 55) You’re close with your family. But for independence and curiosity you moved out and journeyed out on your own.

Psychic

Line 56) On your journey, you met your best friend, who’s been keeping you company all this time.

Psychic

Line 57) You two are very close, and consider each other as family.

Talulla grinned at Calista, Calista grinned back.

Line 58) Calista and Talulla together: So far, all of this is spot on!

Psychic

Line 59) You will endure the life altering experience with her very soon. Another person will also be involved in it as well. Specifically a man.

Talulla and Calista look at each other in confusion.

Line 60) Talulla: Who’s this mystery person?

Line 61) Calista: Another person? Could it be *Raymond?

*Calista’s brother

Calista’s eyes spark up hoping that the man the psychic was talking about is her brother.

Psychic

Line 62) Neither of you have met him yet.

Line 63) Calista: So, I guess it’s not Raymond then…

Calista changes into a defeated expression.

All of a sudden the psychic gasps. She closes her eyes, and opens them quickly. Sweat starts to trickle on her forehead.

Line 64) Psychic: Another vision!

Line 65) Calista: Pft! Give this girl an Oscar for her terrible acting!

Line 66) Talulla: Maybe she’s having a vision.

The psychic peers to her corner and sees that front-desk lady is telling her to wrap up the session.

Psychic

Line 67) That is all I have to say for now.

Talulla

Line 68) Aww man. We were just getting to the good stuff.

The serious psychic grinned at both of the girls and let out a quiet chuckle.

Psychic

Line 69) I wish I could say more, but my abilities have their limits.

Calista rolls her eyes.

Line 70) Calista: Give me a break. What abilities? She is sweating quite profusely though.

Calista

Line 71) Are you okay? You’re sweating like crazy!

Psychic

Line 72) Oh, I’m alright. Don’t worry about me.

The psychic peers at the lady again, and the lady is telling her to stop talking to the girls.

Psychic

Line 73) Anyways that wraps up our session. Thank you both for your time here. You may exit. Best of luck to each of you.

Line 74) Calista: Good luck? But for what?

Calista let out a noticeable scoff and they both exited the room and make their way to the front desk.

Talulla

Line 75) So, how much do I owe you?

Lady

Line 76) Nothing. This session’s on the house.

Talulla glanced at Calista in a happy way.

Line 77) Talulla: What a steal! I love bargains!

Calista

Line 78) Are you sure we don’t have to pay?

Line 79) Calista: All of that was just a lousy performance, but I feel bad if we don’t pay up.

Lady

Line 80) The both of you don’t owe us anything. It was fate that brought you to us.

The lady lets out a chuckle.

Talulla

LIne 81) Well thank you so much for that.

Calista

Line 82) Yes, thank you.

The lady lets out her hand and gives Calista a pamphlet.

Calista

Line 83) Oh, what’s this for?

Lady

Line 84) Just a part of our package deal.

Calista glances at the pamphlet and hands it to Talulla.

Calista

Line 85) Anyways, thank you for the free session. We appreciate your work. Enjoy your night.

Talulla

Line 86) Yeah thanks. Have a good night!

Lady

Line 87) Take care of yourselves. And remember there's always magic within your souls.

Line 88) Calista: Sure……

The lady presents her hands to them and they exit the shop. The girls both looked at each other in confusion.

Talulla is very happy though.

Back in the shop the front-desk lady looks at the psychic in a submissive way.

The shot cuts back to the girls.

Calista

Line 89) Well, what did you think about that?

Talulla

Line 90) It was so cool!

They begin to walk around the outlet and find a bench to sit on.

Calista

Line 91) Do you believe in anything she said?

Talulla

Line 92) Doy! Of course I do! She was spitting facts mid session. I couldn't believe how accurate all of it was.

Calista

Line 93) Are you sure it’s not just some coincidence?

Talulla shoes her hand to Calista.

Talulla

Line 94) Think what you want, party pooper. But don’t rain on my parade.

Calista

Line 95) Whatever, goofhead.

Line 96) Calista: I can’t believe she’s buying all this crap.

Talulla’s eyes spark up as she continues to read the pamphlet the front desk lady gave her.

Calista

Line 97) Fine! I’ll take your word for it. I mean I was also quite shocked when she said all the accurate stuff. But maybe she’s just a psychologist who can assume things based on the way people look and act?

Talulla

Line 98) Or maybe she’s an actual psychic with a gift?

Calista raises her hands in a “spare me” shrugging motion.

Talulla

Line 99) Come on Calista! There’s no way a regular person could just assume something like that. She’s the real deal.

Calista

Line 100) Whatever you say. I guess I’ll have to support you regardless of what you think.

Talulla’s eyes skim around the pamphlet pages. There were words of affirmation written on it.

Calista

Line 101) It’s strange how she mentioned the random person though.

Talulla gazes up from her reading. And peers at Calista.

Talulla

Line 102) Yeah, I wish she’d went more into depth about it, but I guess we’re just going to have to wait and see what happens.

Calista

Line 103) But what do you think it could mean?

Talulla glared at Calista with a side eye and smirks at her.

Talulla

Line 104) Why are you asking so many questions when you said you don’t believe her?

Calista

Line 105) I don’t, but what she said piqued my interest. So what do you think?

Talulla looks embarrassed about what she’s about to say.

Talulla

Line 106) A threesome?

Calista looked at her in disappointment, then hit the nape of her neck lightly and playfully.

Calista

Line 107) Just what goes through that mind of yours?

Talulla laughs.

Talulla

Line 108) Many things.

Calista

Line 109) Get it out of the gutter.

Talulla set her eyes back on the pamphlet. She is really into it for some reason.

Calista

Line 110) Not but seriously. What could it mean, though? I haven’t associated myself with any men in a long time

Talulla

Line 111) I mean the psychic said this mystery man would lead us to our life changing moment. So we should just take her word for it.

Calista

Line 112) Yeah, but how will that happen? If only she gave us more context.

Talulla smirks at Calista in a haughty way.

Calista

Line 113) What’s with that face?

Calista pokes Talullas cheek.

Talulla

Line 114) Maybe, this mystery man she’s talking about is your future bae?

Talulla elbows Calista in a playful way.

Calista

Line 115) But she was telling your fortune. Why would that include me?

Talulla

Line 116) Because the thing is, that my future does include you, Calista.

Calista looks at Talulla in a sentimental way. Talulla ruffles through Calista’s hair.

Tallula

Line 117) No need to get emotional. Maybe she just included you so you wouldn’t feel left out.

Calista

Line 118) Yeah, I guess you’re right. She even blocked the entrance because she said the session was private.

Talulla

Line 119) That was quite passive, huh?

Calista playfully sucks her lips like she’s scared and gasping.

Calista

Line 120) But anyways I’ll admit that being in your fortune is nice to hear.

Calista puts her hand on Talulla’s shoulder.

Talulla

Line 124) I don’t think you’re leaving my side anytime soon. After all, we've been stuck with each other for 5 years.

Calista

Line 125) Has it really been that long?

Talulla nods her head.

Talulla

Line 126) Anyways, let’s head home.

End of episode.
