Nation in Chaos

Nation in Chaos

A Chapter by Ashley.M.E

I find myself in a situation of Chaos

my mind mixed-up and cluttered

It's a reign of terror stuck with unruliness

so many riots and rebellions but no revolution

All there is is an uneasiness and unrest

so much disorder trapped with confusion

It's a free-for-all a holy mess

A trap that I find myself stuck

By the time the evil is done

there well be no triumph

no one will rejoice

the pride that had once been

will never be again

There will be no celebration

no victory that the world is no longer at war

There will be sadness

lost. All the symbolic statues

all the characteristics that the flags stood for

the significant of all the things we were

everything will be lost.

The flags stars and stripes well be turned

no one well look at the large green statue

no more comfort in what it used to stand for

freedom will never stand as it's message

There is no more amiable

no more friendliness in what once was a peaceful place

nothing well be easy nothing well be cozy

when your sleeping on the ground

praying for the simple things

home cooking, warmth

leave them all behind, because they well never come again

Here it is, the signal of death
The signs of Nazis, in sight of what was a great nation

the death or all, fire, prisons

torture, tell me please, this isn't my future

a place of gray

can no one else see are my eyes the only ones

I want them to notice

our nation is no longer great

I am in love with this. Extremely powerful in all means. These are the things we should be worrying about, not if our hair looks fine. This is a major problem in our societies and should be addressed immediately. I feel so gravitated towards issues like this and will literally sit in bed at night and yell at the world. ( well, not out loud). I thank you for gracing us with the pleasure of your work.

When they can ban smoking. (I'm not a smoker) Allow big business to lay-off 350 thousand auto workers with $20,000 and a coupon for a car. Replace them with $10 a hour workers. Then make biggest profit ever off the back of the middle class in the same year. The oil spill in the gulf should scare the hey out of all people. A small fine for one of the largest oil companies in this world. I see what you do. USA was based on less government. When the Government get involved in health care. We will be all in big trouble. A powerful poem. You made me think.

You know... Over the years i've seen things that I wanted to question. To find answers that simply weren't available in the books that schools were using to teach, nor were the answers coming from the adults that I was surrounded by in my youth.
I journeyed through education in the 80's and the beginning of the 90's graduating in 1992. When tough questions were asked, we were tought that what apears is text books and what is printed in the newpapers and heard on the T.V. and radio programs was the truth. That being one with the masses was a good thing and it is what we should strive for.
As I've grown through the years and watched the rise and falls of political regimes, global markets that crash and rise like the wind. I fell back on what I was taught, that just the way it is.
Now...Because of the young eyes, open mind, and compassion of this author. As well as her ongoing search for what is missing in the lives of Americans today, I have realised that I needed to take a step back and look for myself.
As I have put myself back on the learning curve of the truth of our country, I've found things that have left me shocked, apalled and sad. We the people of this once great nation have had blinders thrown on us. It's time that those blinders were removed, so that We the people can see our truths and reclaim our countries heritage, ideals and ability to be great.

Thank you Ashley for putting to pen a poem that shows us the pain and frustration the young people of America are feeling. I applaude you on your ability to see the issues and with courage, take them head on.

Your Friend,
Aaron Wolfie Maycroft

Certainly a very sad truth to this poem... coarse i think more of the song "Gears Of War" by Megadeth... "we invent more intelligent weapons to kill each other like the gears of war"...

anyways these line were particularly attention grabbing...

There will be no celebration
no victory that the world is no longer at war

very nicely done.

This one is good. No idea why but makes me think of the Genesis/Disturbed song "Land Of Confusion"
