Cursing the Winds

Cursing the Winds

A Poem by Fran Marie

you're the devil
In my details
darker than my heart.
I'm your night angel stealing
a lone soul in the dark..
asking for naught...
not a thing have I to gain..
I curse the wicked winds
which keep whispering your name..

sorry for my interpretation presented below. i liked this :)

the word "you're" implies an other, therefore a relationship, particularly with a devil, or an antagonist. "in my details" suggests the other could be one's self-consciousness and self-critique. to battle this the narrator becomes an angel, who's tool is ironically cursing. the narrator doesn't want anything but to lose this devil or devilling thoughts. the "wicked winds" are the damn thoughts that keep blowing in. i'm quite curious what the name actually is.

thanks for sharing!

Mysterious, deep and dark. Cursing the winds..... this sounds like an illicit relationship. He's the devil, he's hooked your angel heart :) a lovely bit of brevity here Fran Marie.

Glad you enjoyed..thank you Rye..;
A neat confession of the impossible tangle of love...of a relationship that is desired but forbidden, wanted but not wanted. It can be like that.
Powerful and perceptive.

That nighttime walk spent searching for that voice that whispers on the wicked winds...Fran...Fran.
A good example of a love poem. Not all poems of love are gentle pieces that ring of sweet kisses and laughter...some are like this...

Well done, Fran.

Simply claim what belong to us is amazing,
Defending from being stolen makes it a valuable thing.
We go the extra mile for it, and will never want it leaves.
It's really a pride to be able to protect what we have.

Beautifully written, Fran.
I also like the composition.

Since I just finished reading a long desert novel by Louis L'Amour, I catch a taste of wandering on the hot desert breeze as I read your poem. Many forgotten avenues of nostalgia go exactly like this (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
