Dying for Spring(Autumn)

Dying for Spring(Autumn)

A Poem by Gee
"

Simple words on a season's change

"
November days come dull and drear
as summer lost and winter near,
with mist and cloud becoming one
to veil from sight a waning sun.
Whilst on the ground warm pastel hues
are mulched beneath man's boots and shoes,
to rot and meld with mother earth
this season's death then springs rebirth

and one day we will rot and meld with Mother Earth, hopefully she will accept us with open arms.
I cannot write this kind of poetry....it is perfect.

well done sir ... in my opinion :) like love .. the seasons can never have enough said about them in poetry .. you say simple ... simple is good!! i like the rhyming and the flow is quite natural .. smooth .. a satisfying read .. minimalism breeds words and lines that are packed .. nice job says i!

I love this, great images; I just wrote one very similar...getting to that time I guess, though it's still beautiful here, but I know what's coming....

I am okay dear friend and I hope you are doing well and having some fun. You are welcome.
This nicely rhymed offering seems to be a comment on the life cycle of all living things. November brings colder weather and the death of the summer and early autumn warmth. And yet, while all trace of that warmth is "mulched" and ground into the earth, the seeds of the life that will arise in spring are being planted. Life is a circle, not a straight line.

Thank you JTB
an enjoyable ode
usually we enjoy the colors of autumn but this year it has been nothing but constant rain, that even recalled mirrored reflections can't improve
Glad I don't have to work in it anymore

Cheers Dave.
I've still got a few more years of construction sites in winter
Lovely little piece of visual brevity. Describes so well the changing season. Roll on spring Gee. That's when I am happiest :) Today has been cold and sunny. Yesterday was dull and drear. When it's dull and drear, I just want to hibernate. Hope all is good in MK.

What I love the most about this is how there's a rhyme & rhythm that lifts each line in a lilting way. This makes me want to write an autumn poem about rot & decay . . . in a good way . . . I love how old foliage insulates from frost in a mild climate like ours here (((HUGS)))

You know, I reckon Mother Nature knows a trick or two and would get round to mending things, as soon as we stop mucking it all up.
