I Have Learned

I Have Learned

A Poem by Lunette Lariz
"

I think this is a waste of time..

"
Ignorance was myself before,
I was curious, yet nothing more.
I played, I cried; child to the core.
I knew none but, joy and horror.

The airplanes and those butterflies,
candies, balloons, and the blue skies,
they're only the ones that were nice,
ones beautiful in my own eyes.

Yet I was brought in a new place,
a new world with a different face.
There, everyone's welcome always,
everyone who'll seek some knowledge.

I have learned in this place called school,
I have learned to follow and rule,
I became wise, never a fool,
I valued life, learned not be cruel.

Knowledgeable, they molded me.
Those wise men taught me to see,
truth and lies, the person I'll be,
also taught me to come to Thee.

And I must not forget them, no,
they who let me study and sow,
who guided me and watched me grow.
I would not learn without their "Go!"

They are the ones who're hardworking,
the ones who are sacrificing,
the ones I am always seeking,
and the ones who keep me breathing.

I cherish my parents so dear.
Thanks, teachers, you made me see clear.
I have learned, yes, to face my fear.
And I know, yes, God's always near.

Author's Note

Lunette Lariz
We are asked to write a poem which will be the basis of our graduation hymn. And yeah, I didn't feel this one. I just shared it to you guys, and I know I will receive feed backs containing corrections and all. Feel free to say it. Again, I didn't feel this one and I wrote this for the sake of passing because I didn't have enough inspiration. Ergh, I hate my senior life, that's why.

I enjoyed reading this very much. I'm not sure why you felt that there would be anything to correct with it. I don't write poetry, so take this with a grain of salt, but I thought it was great :).
I hope you got a good grade on it. It's worth far more than just a pass.
Thanks for sharing!

Well, if nothing else, you do seem to have learned something... Sometimes creativity is work and often work leads eventually to inspired creations. Graduation is only the gateway so relax and enjoy this part of your path to a better future.
Be well.

Interesting, though I'd understand why you'd dare despise it. I'm quite fond of it though, it entertained me.

Oh what an irony! Haha, thanks, Tai. :)
You don't seem too fond of this poem at all, but I really enjoyed it. I thought the flow was lovely, the word choice, amazing, and the idea and execution of it, phenomenal. I feel you did a great job with this. x
