Bumblebee

Bumblebee

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Sweet nectar where rain falls silently...

"
The Art of Giving is in the buds of Lavender where

Bumblebees and Hummingbirds work together side by side

sipping nectar for pollinating fruits and vegetables to

sustain the babies and families to obtain a resistance to

colds and unknown strains of Corona Virus...

Asparagus is gathered in bunches to steam and serve with

buttered carrots in cream and home-made bread warm from the Oven...

Female goats roam on grassy knolls and consent to provide milk for cheese

when Winter sets in and Summers Harvest is stored for soups and sauces with

tender herbs... Parsnips are added for a unique flavor to enhance casseroles

and scalloped potatoes .  Bon appetite !

in your most poetic

we prepare and store
as even the bees and
busy ants know winter
is upon us soon

My aunt is an art professor she did an entire series of Bee paintings LOL so you know i'm gonna click on this write:) You took the bees to a whole new place in this to reflect upon the harvest provided by the efforts:) what a nice surprise Patricia! I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving but it doesn't take a holiday for the likes of you to give thanks!

A feast for the eyes and a fulfillment for the belly. In your words, I see how it is all important and connected. We have to appreciate all those blessings as you do Pat. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Your wonderous writes are natural if not heavenly.

Overall, I became more taken with the meal preparation than the garden scene that precedes it. I love the way you start out with lavender being a playground for the various pollenators to mix & mingle. I love how you allude to the healing qualities of eating that which has been blessed by the natural creatures & robust minerals of mother earth. Your poem suggests that when many of God's creatures & condiments are contributing to a meal, that's the best way to become more connected & harmonious. Nice plan for life! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Lovely ode to Nature that, eventually, borders on the mouth-watering.
Hummingbirds have always seemed to be just bigger bees; at times, these tiny birds
move so quickly, they practically disappear.
Thoroughly enjoyed this read, Pat.

Loved the inner moral. Nature itself is a management and we have a lot to learn from them. The feeling of oneness is missing in today's society but example of bumblebees and hummingbirds is lesson necessary to endure as foundational values in our life. We all are part of system not the master we need to understand this moral until its too late. Happy to come across something fresh and interesting. Thank you for writing this. You wrote a pure gem.

Yeah very true, Pat
this reminds me of my annual, local visit to the country's oldest fair (canceled this year due to the virus). they have bees in honeycombs that you can see. the queen is marked. you can buy honey. they also have fruits and vegetables on display and there is a largest pumpkin contest (usually about 1,000 lbs.) there are animal barns - rabbits, goats, donkeys, sheep and a horse show. thanks for taking me there and reminding me. your delicious words and images have set a lovely table. thanks for the sweet, tasty write ... :)
