That night after the game, I went home wondering every thing that happened. Why do I feel it? Why did I glow? And why is he glowing as well? And now, standing face to face with him, I didn't even know what to say. He's glowing. But not that glow as if we look like we're hollow beings with a candle inside. No, more of as if we were being beamed with a light. And the freaking spark. What the hell was that?! So I just looked up. Trying to subside the sensation. "Do you feel it?" he asked softly. I looked at him. He must be asking about the sensation. He's watching me intently. I was trying not to look into his eyes. Can't. It's pulling me. I groaned silently. I closed my eyes. "The sensation? Do you feel it?" He asked again. I breathed out slowly. "Yes." I whispered. "Do you have any idea what this means?" I shook my head. I wanted to tell him things but I can't. I don't know him personally. "I can feel what you're thinking. I just don't know how to say it. But you're bothered." he whispered. Looking up at the sky. I gasped softly and walked backwards. This is too much. I slowlyI sat at the nearby couch. The night wind is cool. I wrapped my arms around me. He followed me slowly. He pulled out his hand from his pants pocket and removed his suit. He placed it around my shoulders then sat beside me. "What are you thinking? Please tell me?" He pleaded. I cleared my throat. "I don't even know you. I can't even tell you everything that is in my head. Even though I am dying to tell you." I said softly. He hesitated at first but then he grabbed my hand softly and enclosed it in his. Immediately the warmth from our skin to skin contact spread out. I stared into his eyes and I was sucked in. It was like I was inside his mind. I can see myself in a monitor. When I was in the classroom playing with my pen but in his perspective. I also saw myself running towards the rain. I also saw how I played against Leon. He loosen his grip and I am back.I panted. He's still holding my hand but very light now. A faint red glow is now between our palms. "What was that?" I asked him. "What did you see?" he asked back. "Myself. On the monitor" I said. "You... were in my head?" he frowned. "Yeah. I guess. Did you experience the same?" I asked. "Yeah." he said softly. He's stroking my hand with his thumb. "I saw your point of view as you ran in the rain. I even saw myself as you glanced at me in the classroom. I even saw the moment we had an eye contact after your game." We fell silent. I was just looking at my hand in his. It feels comforting. The sensation's still there but it's no longer uncomfortable. Though, it felt addicting. "Tell me, Samantha." he said "I... don't know what to say." I said softly. "This is the first time I experienced this. I shouldn't be here." I stood up, pulling my hand from his hold. Immediately I felt the loss. I walked towards the other end of the balcony. "Why?" he asked. "Why are you saying that you shouldn't be here?" He asked a little bit louder. "Because." "Because what?" He stood up. "The sensation.... The sensation is way too addicting. It... overwhelms me. I wanted to explore more. But it is not right. It shouldn't... I shouldn't..." I paced. He held me by my shoulder and with his other hand lifted my chin so I could look up at him. "The sensation is indeed addicting." He smiled. "I don't want it to end. We don't have to explore immediately. Let's just enjoy it." "What do you mean with the 'we'?" I asked. I frowned. He smiled more. His grey eyes bored into mine. Searching through my soul. "I want to know you more, Samantha Wilkins." I melted. It was like more. Of course I wanted more. But it's just not proper. I smiled. "That's more like it. Seeing you smile." he said softly as he stroke my cheek with his knuckles. He held my hand again and that red glow is back. "Why do you reckon we glow?"I asked softly. "Maybe this is our special connection with each other?" He shrugged looking at the red glow as well. I smiled. We walked back to the couch. "A connection, huh?" "What?" he asked humorously. "Your eyes are really pretty." He muttered. "So are yours." I said. He smiled more. "Tell me about yourself first." "Aren't you supposed to go first? You're a lady after all." "Chivalry may not be gone but don't over do it." I smiled. He laughed. "Fine." And he introduced himself. "I'm Dante Charles Fitzgerald. A pure immortal. And this will be my first time to tell someone where I live since you're pretty and we have a connection." I laughed. He continued. "Seriously though, I just live 10 minutes away from the university. And I would love to see you more often. Have this kind of chat with you." "Just a chat, Mr. Fitzgerald." I cleared. "Well, maybe a little bit more than a chat, Ms. Wilkins." He smiled. "Your turn now, my lady." Sensation is still there. More comfortable. More... connecting to him. He still hasn't let go of my hand yet. I don't want to anyway. "I'm Samantha Dorothy Wilkins. I seldom use my second name since I sound more like from the Wizard of Oz story." he laughed. I continued. "I am human. And well, since you told me where you live, might as well tell you. I live in my home. Wilkins gardens. My parents are gone and Gallagher became my legal guardian since." "I'm sorry for your loss." he muttered. He grasped my hand more. I just smiled. "How come you play so well?" He asked I hesitated. Hoping he didn't feel it but of course, this connection is such a bummer. "I know you're hesitating, Samantha. You can just tell me even a lie." he looked into my eyes. "Well, I trained a lot. Gallagher wanted me to be prepared to anything. Besides, for a change, right?" I told him. He smiled. "That sounds... hmmm... plausible." I smiled back. "I wish I really know the truth. And to think you're at the advanced level." I just smiled again. The cold night wind blew again. Some strands of my hair got loose. He tucked it behind my ear. I stared at the sky. I didn't know what to say. "Samantha." he called softly. "Hmm?" "Can I kiss you?" he asked. I looked at him. He looked serious. "If holding your hand and feeling the sensation seems addicting, what more for a kiss?" I said softly. He just nodded. But he pressed a soft kiss on the tips of my fingers. We stayed at the balcony a bit longer, staring at the sky. Our palms together is still glowing. A sense of peace and contentment envelops me. I looked at him again. "Did you feel that?" I asked. "Yes." He smiled. We began talking again. About likes and dislikes. He avoided asking me about the game. After a while, we heard the dinner bell sounded. It's time to go back inside. He guided me as we went in the hall. I gave him his suit as I saw Gallagher and Alistair Fitzgerald approach us. "You looked like you had a good time." Alistair noted as they reached us. I was still holding on to Dante's arm. "Yes, sire. This is actually the first time we learned so many things about each other." Dante commented. I saw Gallagher's eyes flicked towards me silently asking if I said too much. I shook my head subtly and just smiled. "Good, Good." Alistair nodded. Dante's mother appeared beside his father. "Barbara, please meet Gallagher Boost and his niece Samantha." Gallagher reached for her hand and kissed it. "It's nice to finally meet you, madame." "Likewise, Mr. Boost" she curtsied. I curtsied as Barbara looked at me. "You look good together, Dante." she commented. But she didn't smile. As if she doesn't like the idea of her son and me to be together. Dante giggled if it's even possible. He touched my hand on his arm, "She's the prettiest in this hall, mom. So, we definitely look together." he said. Everyone laughed softly and agreed. Gallagher smiled at me. "Well, we're all starving. Shall we?" Gallagher interrupted the soft laughter and gestured to the main table. I sat next to the head table where Gallagher is seated. Dante seated beside me. Alistair and Barbara sat across us. We had a lovely dinner. Talking about business and school. Dante held my hand as we were just having our dessert and the red glow is back. We looked at each other but I had to break eye contact or else I would be sucked in again. After dinner, we were introduced to everyone. Alice, as I just noticed, saw how Dante held my hand. She looked daggers at me. I looked away from her as we approached David and Sarah. "Sam, it's good to see you here. Seems like Dante kept you all by himself the whole time before dinner." Sarah hugged me. I laughed. "Hi, Sarah." Dante teased her. She playfully hit him on his arm. David took my hand and was about to kiss it when Dante cleared his throat. "Come on, dude. I was just saying hi to Sam." David said. Sarah laughed. "Just reminding you." Dante replied. They both grinned and David ended up shaking my hand. Then the music played the moment the business associates are back in the meeting room. "Excuse me, I'll just have a dance with my sweetheart here." He led Sarah to the dance floor. Sarah was waving at me. "Dance with me?" Dante offered. He offered his hand and I accepted it with a smile. With the red glow back, he led me to the dance floor and held me. We spent the whole duration of the gathering dancing, laughing and chatting with each other and with David and Sarah. We even exchanged numbers finally. "I'll call you." Dante said as he walked me to the limousine. We were walking behind Gallagher. "I'll answer." I joked. He pressed his lips against my hand then he let me go as the chauffeur opened the door for me. Immediately the sense of loss flooded me. But I have to control it. Gallagher got in the limousine at the other side and we drove off. "Be cautious of that boy, Samantha." Gallagher muttered as we were seated silently in the limo. I looked at him. "His father is now connected to the government and it will be bad if he knew things about you." "He will not tell. I can feel it." I replied. "Why do you have a red glow when he touched you?" he asked. "I didn't even know. It was weird but it felt.... good." He just grunted and sat back. I looked out of the window as we cruised the road going back to the mansion.
