The Sand Speaks

The Sand Speaks

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

Listen...

"

The sand speaks

in whooshing whispers

grit and warmth

confronting ocean’s fury

with the serenity of knowing…

this too shall pass

Thank you, Noodle!
There is something comforting in the ability for the beach to hold washed up yesterdays while erasing the impressions of the past... We cannot live in these shifting sands, but we can go there and enjoy the escape from time to time.
I enjoyed the visual and the philosophy...
Nice "chill pill".

Thanks, Cassie - I am so happy when my poems lift a spirit! :)
Short, not a word too many or out of place. A piece of deep meaning. Fab-buuu-lous

Thank you, Jacob. :)
Simply beautiful Rita. Skillfully crafted free verse that is short, concise and succinct. Excellent use of brevity. Vivid imagery, flow and tone. Nice personification. You took me to the shore; I could almost feel the whispering wind and the sand under my feet through your words. Good word choice as is the alliteration, with nice assonance and consonance. Well penned and an enjoyable read. Write on!

You did a great job with it Rita. Have a great day!
You have a very unique way of looking at things, my friend. How I love the ocean. Of course, God has given us a glorious world to live in, chock full of beauty. Mountains, forests, deserts, gardens...so much to fill our eyes, and our hearts with joy. But when He came to the place where land and water meet...well, I think He outdid Himself.
Yes, and when He made you, too...
Lovely write from a lovely person.
