Chapter 7 - He should know

Chapter 7 - He should know

A Chapter by

Dana walked in, with the cranberry juice, meeting a group of smiles. Bom was getting attention again for her pregnancy. Minzy was touching her stomach, while Sam held her shoulders standing behind her. Damian was still sitting on the edge of Minzys bed smiling to himself. Terry and Travis stood next to Bom holding hand and Travis was resting his head on Terrys shoulder, smiling peacefully. Everything seemed to be harmonic. Dana joined them and handed Minzy her juice from the little plastic bag she got when she bought it. She didn’t say anything about meeting GD. It would ruin the whole atmosphere, and Minzys mood would probably go down. She never really said anything, but everyone knew that she missed GD. Damian was wearing the ring Minzy got from GD, and she had been looking at it longingly ever since she gave it to Damian.

Flashback - At the party.
“Damian, could you hold this for me until i get better? And if i don’t get better, then I would like you to give it to GD and tell him everything.” Said Minzy.
“Minzy. Why should i hold on to it for you? This is something precious to you, i know that. You should not give something away that is dear to you.” Said Damian.
Minzy got teary, and a single tear began rolling down her left cheek.
“Damian. This ring will keep me from letting him go. I will remember him whenever i see it on my finger. I don’t want to leave this world while I’m sad. Please just do this for me.” Minzy tried to convince him.
Damian caressed her cheek, removing the tear that she had shed. And Minzy understood that he had agreed. She took of her ring and placed it in Damian’s hand. She looked him in his eyes with a look that expected him to take care of it with his life. That’s when both of them noticed GD watching them, being in shock. Minzy stepped away from Damian, trying to cover up that they had talked about something privately. But GD seemed to had misunderstood...
End of flashback.

Minzy stared at that ring. Even though i was not on her finger, it was still in her sight. She would never really get rid of it would she?
She opened the juice she got from Dana, and began drinking. She needed something that somehow was filled with joy. The juice was just that. It tasted like summer, Minzy’s favorite time of year. Memories from the school holidays appeared before her. The whole gang was on the beach. This was before her and GD began dating. But she was still into him. All the girls was in bikini, being eye candy to the boys. And the boys was not bad either. Being shirtless was a bonus to the girls. Seeing their abs and their tanning skin could make them act like crazy girls. And they did, whenever the boys were not around. This memory was strongest to Minzy. She didn’t know why but it just made her happy to the tips of her bones. She could see that everyone had big smiles on their faces, and truthfully enjoying themselves. Then she looked at the gang that was with her now. The looked happy, but somehow the truthfulness was not there. But Minzy was happy that they tried to brighten up her days. It did help her go through there bad times.

A nurse cane in with a wheelchair. She asked Minzy to get into it. She had to have her usual check-up. Minzy knew she had to, but she never really wanted to do it. She was always so tired afterwards, and that meant that the gang had to leave. She didn’t want them to leave, neither did she want to leave. But she did leave. She got into the wheelchair, and the nurse rolled her out of her room. Everyone in the room then got quiet. The silence filled the room, and no one wanted to say anything. The fact that they were facing reality, watching Minzy leaving them, would always hit them hard. No matter how many times she went to check-ups, and no matter how many times she came back. It would be hard on them to say goodbye, if just for a  couple of hours.
Then Terry broke the silence: “She is getting really pale.” He said sorrowfull. Travis took her hand and squeezed it a bit. Terry looked at him and smiled a bit.
“I’m getting more nervous for her surviving every time i see her.” Commented Cala. Bom nodded in agreement. Sam went to herpulling her in to a hug in his arms. Damian and Carla jounied the two couples in a large hug. They could not see the light of hope anymore. This was going down hill, and it didn’t seem like it would become better anytime soon.
“We just have to keep hoping, and be there for Minzy when she needs us.” Said Damian into the hug.
“I have thought about calling GD.” Said Sam suddenly. They all looked at him.
“I think he should know what is happening. He does not deserve finding out later if it’s to late.” He said. The group hade been thinking the same for a time now. Except Dana, but she knew that it was all because she didn’t like his reaction. She knew that it would be for the best.
“I talked to him today.” She said surprising the rest.
“Wait. When did you talk to him?” Asked Terry.
“When i went to buy the juice for Minzy. He walked inside the same store as me.” Dana answered.
“Didn’t he try to run?” Bom wondered.
“Well he couldn’t actually. He was stuck in the line to pay. But he seemed honestly worried for how Minzy was doing. I didn’t tell him anything though. I said that she and Damian broke up not long after he saw them. I thought it would be for the best to keep him in his own believes.” Answered Dana.
“But he should know right? We all agree that he should know. This is important. And in the long run i think Minzy would be happy that he knew.” Said Sam. No one knew, except Damian, what Minzy was thinking. She wanted him to know, but had given up all hope of telling him. She told Damian in the car, the day GD attacked them. The gang agreed on telling him, but knew that Damian shouldn’t call. Well they were not really on good terms anymore. It ended up with Travis calling him.
