insidious

insidious

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

I try, but sometimes it creeps in

"
like you.

insidious
it creeps in.
I try not to
let it,
but still,
your disease
penetrates
the walls
I built,
and threatens
to make me
sick
like you.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

your poison

your anger
your hate
it's a poison,
I feel it
peeling away
the layers
so thin,
so fragile,
internal burns,
I will never
let you see.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

dermatophyte --

a special type of parasite
that slides under your skin,
and disconnects the tissue
from the rest of you
living things without a heart
that try to separate you
from your humanness,
how could I have known
you were a fungus
with a man's face ...

some pain just feels so good don't ya think.. :)
Before l'enfant ...I used running to expel this kind of thing. Loved it ... taking what might have otherwise gotten me down and used if for empowerment. Now I walk so l'enfant can keep up and I do yoga and meditate. The thing about creatures of the dark ... they can't stand even the slightest bit of light.

You are a powerful pen ... a pen on fire, one might say:)

Your unpleasant feelings crawl through my skin, I like your choice of words and the similes. Creative and well-written. Reminds me a tiny little bit of my poem Paper's Due though the content is very different from yours, yet the images feel similar in a way.

Intense revealing of the emotions we feel when we've been duped and the feelings were not truly reciprocal. I like the parasitical metaphor a lot.

Harsh, potent, honest and invigorating at the same time.

What you say here, or at least what I got from this poem is that people who love you won't harm you. Or better yet, If I had to explain it in words, someone who doesn't really care about you, but rather needs you for his own selfish needs-- They won't bring you up. They won't encourage you. They will make you feel weak, useless, they will make you feel as though everyone else hates you and the world is against you.

You see when a weak minded, childish and cruel person needs something from you, and wants exclusive control over you, they will often turn to diminish the other relationships in your life. ''..That boss hates you. '' ''That girl is talking trash about you.'' ''That boy doesn't like you for your personallity, but only for your body.''

There's a fine line between caring for you, and just trying to manipulate you.
It's so fine that we rarely see it in time.

Thank you for the poem.
