Dissection

Poem

she soars

without any wings

and sings

without knowing the words

a bird

in a cage she's trapped

a gap

behind the window pane

the bane

of her existence

resistance

made them cut her wings

the things

they don't think she needs

the seeds

in her mind take flight

the night

is full of wonder

under

the blanket of the sky

she lies

in a bed of roses

she knows

just where the thorns are

so far

away from here

but near

her beating heart

a start

in the right direction

dissection

then back again

Author's Note

Surprisingly this one actually didn't start on the loo. It wouldn't let me go to sleep last night until I got back up and pounded some keys.
