So Tired...

So Tired...

A Poem by A.Lee

I’m tired of living in the hurried bustle

Of each and every day

Of filling my time with meaningless tasks

To keep dark thoughts at bay

I’m tired of constantly making it seem

That life is far from bleak

Of trying to hold up all those around me

When I myself am weak

I’m tired of always holding back tears

When they want to freely flow

Of pushing my feelings so deep inside

And hoping they don’t explode

I’m tired of pretending I am strong

When I know I’m really not

And of having no one there for me

When my sanity is shot

I’m tired of holding my head at night

And trying not to scream

Then waking up like every morning

Wishing it was all a dream

I want someone to take my hand

And tell me its okay

Because I swear to God that I won’t last

If this goes on another day

This is brilliant. I felt the emotion illuminating in each and every word. How you so bluntly said you are tired, and how you wont last, is great. I love it when poems are straight forward like this, because you can relate to the feelings of the poem better. I think these exact thoughts all the time and you have wrote out my emotions in a fantastic form. Great Job.

Poem is powerful and the story is filled with a desire to be needed and wanted. Life can be scary when we are alone.I like the emotion and feel of the words in the poem. A sad ending to a well written poem. Thank you. Good things take time.

a very strong write, sometimes our hardships are so tiring we lose all strength and finally turn to God for all help and pray to give courage or to take away our problems, a very good write...

Very good. The sense of 'internal combustion' that's going on in these verses is volcanic:

"Of pushing my feelings so deep inside
And hoping they don’t explode" ----------> This epitomises the poem for me.
