love's rematch

love's rematch

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

love's rematch

salty composure

Hedonistic compunction

love thrown over a shoulder

but the luck is just dry tears

the umbrella punctured with stinging emotion

a heart flailing at clouds

with ineffective fists

clenched dreams lose the fight

once broken, there is no second-ten count

the fight is called before it starts.

Reminds me of a boxing rematch, the uphill battle between and the judges verdict for the heavy weight champion of the world. A knock out punch and a knock out poem you deliver for us...:).........................

I don't understand this. Not that that's any fault of yours. I'm just so very new to this sort of thing, that the layers of imagery are very dense and hard for me to get through. I need to keep reading more poetry.

Words to delve into, jacob.. not easy but a fine example of 'how to.. ..

Guess, assume, that trying a second time round rarely comes to anything. one tries but too often the mauling begins.. and the hurt just hurts that much more. Perhaps?
