~ Final curtain act of weeping roses

~ Final curtain act of weeping roses

A Poem by Frieda P
"

_inspired by Rene's poem, Reduce everything to Ashes

"
Etched your name
in the dust of my heart's ache,
wildflower's soul strewn
       haphazardly askew
love note tucked neatly
          written in braille tidings,
of ghostly passage's rhyme
obliging a long forgotten prayer
of yesteryear and far away,
          in your eye's pious obligations
a blue moon's
dispirited bloom,
awakened in the shadows
             of diminished  capacity's vapors,
surrendered under the pressure
                 of afterthought's tragic loss
weeping roses
             can't breathe life's blood,
too late for encore's last call
                      in the final curtain act

I liked the tone of this --- Frieda...yet I had a difficult time reading with the font...I made it through and just adjusted the magnification a bit...I do see the the end caption puts this into over drive:

weeping roses
can't breathe life's blood,
too late for encore's last call
in the final curtain act

well-versed...again I only had to squint a bit to finish...and I already have four eyes...LOL...good day...and happy writing...

Frieda, with every ready of one of your writes i become more in tune with the style that is yours. Each and everyone expose another scar, and other message in braille, another... well another door.

For some reason, these words draw me back. I keep reading them. Jon.

I am going to have to check Rene's poem out, if it inspired such a lovely piece.

surrendered under the pressure
of afterthought's tragic loss

These lines were fascinating to me. Too often so we say that hindsight is 20/20 and we rethink our actions, wishing that we could have had things play out differently. But if we were to surrender to afterthought would that mean trying to go back and do things differently? I feel that would take away our humanity a bit. But perhaps I just opened up a completely separate can of worms.

After reading his . . . it got the mind turning. I'm glad I came through and took a look at your as well. A very eloquent piece strapped with keen word choices and well placed metaphors, 'weeping roses can't breath life's blood'. Beautiful. The only complaint I would have is the small text, a bit hard on the eyes.

Weeping roses, how beautiful but sad this poem is, for all that might have been but will never be.
