Power Lines

Power Lines

A Chapter by Kenneth The Poet

The power lines bow
low, being the borderline
between the cultures.

Blue lights flash to warn
low-flying aircraft of the
power just above.

In the hours just
before dawn, the UFO's
might try to land there.

In the middle of
a wide waterway, the ship
would just short-circuit.

The Berlin Wall on
the prairie, but the eagle
is the oppressor.

But its a river,
a wet cannonball acts as
the dividing line.

In these modern times,
Peyton Place is located
anywhere on Earth.

The sheer volume proves
this place as the rule among
all the exceptions.

The history of
subjugation still lingers
today directly,

and indirectly.
Drug use, stereotypes and
slack mentality.

Slack mentality
is just slave mentality,
a two letter change.

The porous border
allows access to ones who
love Choctaw Bingo,

Except that this place
is over a thousand miles
directly northward.

And this place siphons
off millions from either race
so the state persists.

The fiefdom along
the Mighty Missouri and
a wet cannonball.

And of the power
lines, the electric fence that
is elevated.

The porous border
allows movement but that is
only symbolic.

hmm. I agree. some scars never completely heal. hopefully, one day this world will prove that statement wrong. until, then, we'll akk eat whatever s**t the leaders decide to feed us, go to work at whatever s****y job we can get, and live with scars. Racism, sexism, class wars, ageism and all the other isms still exist....linger on and on in under the breath backhand comments and little mannerisms and nervously told jokes. pretty sad. the change is "only symbolic".

cheers!
