Scattered

Scattered

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

Image result for schizophrenic scatter

Scattered
the steps are timid and trembling
treads and risers as mismatched as candelabra in the ghetto
there is a swirl of black pearl there
beyond the edge of the world
                                                  it drops off.
certain hearts shrink for the fear of things
others excite
they are special people ... faith .. or some wild recklessness
                                                   it drops off.
Something Blind; Something Evil
A plan was laid in rock and root today.
one more day just like yesterday
but now now now now now now    ...  dust has changed everything
changed the floor, the mantle
changed on the tops of picture frames
hanging there on the walls
changed the air and black pearl swirl ...........changed everything
i woke up with the same dread of
loosing my connection with God and myself
dread fears of taking my last breath and
gazing with last eyes
missing ....missing the sight and line of
forgiveness ..... missing the point
suspicion like derechos blasting canopy and solid ground
                ...... missing the leveling
ozone scent ... sweet pickle dimple
sublime fertilization of the mind and heart .. lifting
like important information through the shredder
chrome metalflake in back velvet
tacky hotel.
she tip toe'd and
he spent his time striving to
curl his toes around her.
not much of a future really
so grey and purple when
listening goes to stone and
ears' drumming brakes instead of dawn.
cream color requires dire scrubbing.
how can i fit into your still small voice?
it keeps it hiding under the bed
forgotten not;
but in waiting while dust swirls and black pearl winds
are a desert.

"Derechos: Spanish for “straight ahead,” ..storms producing winds in a straight line that knock down trees and buildings in the same direction from storms that produce rotating winds that cause tornadoes. A derecho storm system is also distinctly wide and fast-moving, causing wind damage for more than 250 miles(larger than the diameter of most hurricanes),with gusts pushing faster than 58 mph along most of its length."

This is a heart-moving poem. I'm like Dave B . . . glad to read a complex & nuanced poem that actually plucks my strings instead of leaving me baffled! As a recovering perfectionist, I can say there's much to be said about embracing our scattered tendencies. If we humans weren't so likely to be scattered, we wouldn't work so hard to be control freaks. This is what it looks like when we finally learn to embrace the scatter . . . to love how the pieces never fit . . . to still enjoy fitting the pieces together anyway. You use stunningly sweeping imagery to show all the ways we feeble humans bumble along, despite our dumb universal act like we're in charge here, which fools nobody. This is such memorable writing:
"i woke up with the same dread of
loosing my connection with God and myself
dread fears of taking my last breath and
gazing with last eyes"

and so much more! But I've got to go plant me some tamaters & squash! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I think humans are scattered by default. Problems arise when we condition that default and attempt to organise the randomness of being. The emotional connections threaded through this are so articulate. To be human is to fear certain things, the unknown and the known at times :) The uncertainties do invade or consume the certainties and certain days sometimes. Some incredibly striking imagery in this piece E, loss of connection, aloneness, ears no longer accepting of the what mays, whys or hows. This shall linger with me a while today...you write some mood/life changing poetry E...truly :)

I like the many faces and some distortion in the artwork, it suits beautifully to the poem, things unexpectedly seen in strange places, the mind losing its reason in fear; and yet fear breeds overthinking.
What a gem of a mindbender this poem is :)

Love the colour and chaos of your chosen artwork Mr E. That image in your text of candelabra in a ghetto is so strong, it will stay with me for sometime. Beyond the edge of the world it drops off. Your lines really dig deep on the emotions. Particularly relevant in the current climate. Your poem evoked feelings of fear, it was quite an unsettling read. As unsettling as where we currently are with this pandemic and the death it brings. The feelings of being out of control, when I like order. The loss of freedom. Such brilliant lines. Can be read on many different levels. All your readers will interpret your lines in their own way. All good wishes. Take good care of you.

top 'o the morning back at ya, E,
Such an intelligent and yet heartfelt poem. The list of emotions covered here is long but by no means is the poem to much. It flows and reaches so many peak layers. Not at all scattered in my humble view. Profound and yet supremly beautiful. Nuff said.

Same like my writing. I cannot complete understand of your creation. But you have quiet magic way with words. I wonder if you ever read Terry Pratchett. Cause you got simulate ways of expressions . This is looks to me like some dark fantasy with real experience of human. Certainly i feel something is happening and moving. I am not sure what maybe i get my daily dope of LSD. So i wish this trip will not stop. But nevermind it's over now. Maybe i will return for another trip at tommorow . All the best and be save.

We live each day and wonder "Is that all there is?" We ask unanswerable questions and as we get older, the questions become a bit more scary. Personally, my belief in a greater power has slimmed down to a silk thread at this point. I enjoyed the stream of consciousness and the honesty in this one, E. You bare your soul. Lydi**

E., it's good to see a relatively new one from you. I obviously missed seeing this for a while. This one might be beyond my reach. I read it twice.

I get a stream of consciousness and the human brain's incessant striving to bring order from chaos, if only in the mind. You've triggered all our senses in this poem and transported us to an unsettling place. I think I'd be dizzy in this environment, trying to focus on what's happening in front of me. Scattered is the ideal word for what I take from this poem. As a control freak, this would be hell for me, though a masterfully crafted poem. Great artwork and music, too.

You’re welcome, sir.
We can't go on forever and when the road ends we must be grateful, but our mind never stops, though it may confuse our future journey with memories.
The human is a complex animal, never ever completely happy, and the search for the holy grail just seems to last forever. Maybe that is the joke of life, we all search for what isn't there, but just in case it is we'll continue. Liked this, Einstein.
