Why is it that defending freedom
Requires taking freedom from others
Self described patriots wrapped in flags
Armed to the teeth
Shout in order to be heard
Quick to silence others
Selective interpretations of the Bible
Of the Constitution
Used in justification
Of possessing instruments of death
stand your ground
nothing more than
Frontier justice
vigilante rage
Devilish whispers
To disturbed minds
Releasing innermost demons
Bullets fly, children die
The NRA spreads venomous lies
Our blood stained institutions
Contain the sacrifice of angels
As we wrestle with our disease
Such an addiction
Is your right to kill
More important than my right to live ?
