Grief

Grief

A Poem by Gee
"

Have become well acquainted with grief this past 6 months

"
Grief

The pen, the page, they welcome you
the heart though not at all,
as misery's your companion
each time you come to call,
though misery, or so it seems
does with our muse sit well,
gives clarity to train of thought
as words our heartache tell,
to those that too have loved and lost
have buried, mourned and cried,
and too have stained the pristine white
when cherished ones have died.

Wonderful writing here! My kind of poetry although I love all your poetry. Your pen is doing wonderful things! Never discount those quick writes, some of my best poetry comes out in my poems over coffee, first thoughts, first feelings can be powerful as is this piece.

Thank you Patricia
funny how our writings seem too easy; and are not appreciated by the author as much as something worked over a hundred times; are some of the best we do .. i love this, Gee. i think it's perfect .. minimal, straight forward, everyday language, unforced rhymes, and true as rubber hits the road .. we carry grief with us .. and triggers spark reminders of it .. this poem is one of those .. it actually is an honor to feel and bear pain of loss tho we think differently most times .. your quickie is a gem to me sir! thanks for sharing

Grief can be debilitating. So many of us have lost people we love in the past year. This Christmas will be so difficult for my younger sis. Last Christmas was my dear brother in laws last. Such a poignant write. Gee. Partings put us on a pathway we would rather not be on. We have to keep walking and eventually, the journey will not be such
a sorrowful one. Getting nearer Christmas and it looks as though the year end will be shite. More restrictions about to come our way. Keep safe Gee and make the most of what we are left with.
