Twinkling Star

Twinkling Star

A Poem by Jyoti_Ablaze

Twinkle, twinkle little star

marred with scars of love and war

you shine when the world is sleeping tight

like a ray of hope guiding through the night

Twinkle, twinkle little star

witnessing my euphoria and despair

you are like an oasis in the barren sky

bravely, holding your ground up so high

Twinkle, twinkle little star

marred with scars of love and war

you blink and wink while I gaze

bring the new moon, spellbound in daze

Twinkle, twinkle little star

I stoically wait, from afar

for you to soothingly touch my soul,

rejuvenate my body, make me whole

This is so beautiful! The way you've interwoven a light childhood lullaby with your own intense and serious words, crafts a wonderful, slick poem. Great job! :D

Thank you for your kind visit!
Such a beautifully woven lullaby of tenderness and depth. There is the vastness that we feel when looking up at the stars, so filled with destiny in each glimmer, and the intimate feeling that somehow they know the music of each of our souls. Your words reach out with a wondrous desire for peace, dear Jyoti.

Thank you Craig for the beautiful review!
Jyoti,

Stars were always an ardent inspiration for our class, not because it covers mystery altogether. You know it still possesses the same range of mystery as it held from time immemorial. The science could not give much damage to this and to the dreamers/star gazers. As Pope said Galelio could hardly touch it's pristine shell.
Aryabatta and other mathematicians like Vadasseri Parameswaran etc were victims of these madness and rated as waste during their life time for lying on their back in the river sand in the midnight to make love with them(stars). They were fully aware that it will ultimately rejuvenate their whole by doing so.
That's why we call them scientists.
I think you might have got the message.
All poets are scientists and all scientists are poets.
But our class teachers will not understand this and it is still out of syllabus.
Don't expect the mass appreciation for anything called POETRY
Hence wait stoically ever for becoming a member of this cast.

carry on.......pl...........

Brilliant! This may be the best thing of your's that I have read, that said I have a question: You have a great rhyme scheme going but for one line (like a ray of hope in darkness to guide). To that, I have a suggestion "Like a ray of hope guiding through the night" this will fix the rhyme scheme and fit into your existing context.
I give it five out of five Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap! :~)
