A Chapter by TheConjuringCat

The curtain is closed,

The audience is waiting.

The dancers stand

In the wings,

Stretching.

A few are on stage,

Safe behind the curtain as they

Review last minuet changes.

The air smells heavily of

Hairspray and makeup.

Boxes of rosin litter the floors.

Flowers are added to buns,

Eyelashes are curled,

Ribbons sewed on new shoes,

Props are set in boxes,

Ready to be used.

As the curtain opens,

The audience applauds,

And dancers run to their places.

Lights up.
