Even Though I'm Deaf,

Even Though I'm Deaf,

A Chapter by TheConjuringCat

Even though I'm deaf,

I can dance,

I can sing,

I can talk,

I can act,

Even though I'm deaf,

I preform on stage,

I dance to music I can't hear.

Even though I'm deaf,

I still know your language.

Even though your hearing,

You can't read lips,

You can't understand

Being deaf isn't a handicap.

Even though your hearing,

You can't feel the music.

You rely totally on your ears to dance.

Even though your hearing,

You will never speak my language.

Or maybe you meant it to be reply? If that is the case, I'm sorry for misunderstanding. (Nevertheless, I still ADORE this poem!)

Oh my, how lovely.
I like how you turn it around on the hearing person to make them feel like they're handicapped, yet you don't do it spitefully: "Even though your hearing/You can't feel the music./You reply totally on your ears to dance."
I remember how you said your spelling and grammar can't always be perfect, but some people may trip up on the "You reply totally on your ears..." Take out the P in reply and make it into rely. It may just be a typo or whatever, but the meanings are totally different. I tripped up a little there.
This has to go into my favorites!

Only one word. Beautiful.

I love this poem! It shows that no matter if you can't hear or talk or even see, no matter what the disability is you can't let it bring you down because in the end you have something other people don't. The wording is amazing and actually this poem speaks louder than anything you could speak out loud. Fab write :)

From what I can tell of you as a writer it tells me that you won't perish in the weakness of your disability, you treat it as though it's an honor to house it, that you'll find glory from the strengths it gives, and good for you, living, because not many do.
