Chapter 4: Unfortunate Turn Of Events

It is Friday and the end of the school day. Students are discussing weekend plans with each other… Including Saku Hana and her friends

-Saku is packing up; she takes out a change of clothes

“Kay guys, I’m gonna change into my tennis clothes and head out!”

-Irei stops her

“Wait, are you busy this weekend? I was hoping you can accompany Goshippu and me to the local hangout…”

-Saku sighs

“I have a tennis tournament to go to on Sunday and I’m spending today and Saturday with Tsuyoi Senpai for training… If I get off practice early then I can probably hang out for a little bit…”

-Goshippu chuckles

“Well, whatever… you have to try to come to the local hangout to see Baddobōizu perform… and help me find some dirt on some people!”

-Goshippu is excited for the local hangout is where all gossip begins

-Saku shakes her head

“Go there to see that jerk and his gang? Are you kidding me? Did you already forget that I declared war on Kim Ji-Hoon?! And gossip is your job, not mine… I have to go!”

-Saku races to the bathroom to change and leaves quickly

Saku is training hard, tennis is no joke now. Tsuyoi is helping her out. Finally she can stop. The two are panting on the ground from the exerted effort of training.

-Tsuyoi helps Saku up

“Now that was some great playing, girl! Keep it up and you’ll win for sure!”

“Ha, I still need to work a little bit, so, I’ll come here tomorrow too, okay?”

-Tsuyoi shakes his head

“Crazy… Alright, you train, but, I have to work…”

“Right… you got a new job… Well, that’s okay… I can practice by myself… Go ahead home; it’s already 4:45…”

“I get off at 8… want to hang out tomorrow after I’m done? I’ll buy you a drink!”

“Tsuyoi Senpai! Stop flirting with me!”

-Tsuyoi goes smiling, waving at Saku as he walks home   

-Saku sits on the ground again and breathes for a while

-Suddenly, a big dog comes up to her and sits in front of her

-He is calm... obediant sort of like... his seems to be a mix

“Oh, where did you come from?”

-Saku plays with the dog for a while

-The dog suddenly points in a specific direction

“What is it?”

-Saku looks in the direction indicated and… there is a man, his back to her, trying to comfort a crying young boy… while a little girl is clinging to his leg, crying as well

“Oh dear… Maybe… should I help him out?”

-Saku looks around until she finds a man selling ice cream

-Packing up, she grabs her stuff and takes out her wallet

-The dog is following her

“Two vanilla ice-creams please!”

-The man smiles cheerfully and hands her two

“Is it for you and your boyfriend?”

“Eh… Oh no, no no,” Saku answers hurriedly, “Do you see that man with the two crying children? It’s for them”

-The man nods

“Oh, I see… hm, well, aren’t you just a sweetheart! Just because you’re so beautiful and thoughtful, I’ll give you those two cones for free.”

-Saku bows and thanks the man

-She sets off in a jog towards the man; the dog beats her

-Gently, Saku pushes the man to the side and kneels in front of the boy

“Hey there, what’s the matter?”

-The boy’s crying begins to ease until all he does is sniffle… he remains silent

“Aw, come now, it couldn’t be so bad…” Saku hands him the ice-cream cone, “That ice-cream can’t help!”

-The boy smiles and takes the ice cream

-Saku moves to the man’s leg where the girl still clung

“Hey sweetie…” Saku holds the ice-cream cone out to her, “I bought one for you too!”

-The girl let’s go of the man’s leg and takes the ice-cream as well

-The children are happy

-Saku tussles both children’s hair and speaks to the man without looking up

“I’m sorry for intruding sir, but it seemed like you were having a lot of trouble… I think that is your dog too?”

-Saku stands and actually looks at the man’s face

-She jumps back in surprise

“NYA!!!”

-Kim Ji-Hoon is standing before her

“Do you always come up to strangers willingly like this? You really are an idiot…”

“Are- are- are these your-“

-Ji-Hoon snaps at the suggestion

“Hey pee-brain, I’m not married! They are relatives! Damn fool!”

-Saku crosses her arms and scoffs; she is careful to choose appropriate language in front of the children

“Well unkind man, is that any way to speak to someone who has helped you? And these two are young! Watch what you say in front of them! Don’t you know the first thing you aren’t supposed to do in front of kids is use foul language or insults?”

“Is that why you’re like this? And why are you dressed like that? You trying to pick some pervert up or something?”

-Saku becomes conscious of the tennis outfit she is wearing… noticing that the skirt might be short

“I have shorts on!! What kind of girl do you think I am?!”

-Saku pauses

“On second thought… don’t answer that… Uhg, forget it…”

“Forget what?”

-Saku waves a hand at Ji-Hoon and ignores him, kneeling in front of the children

“The important this is that you two are happy!”

-The two smile

-Saku smiles as well

“I don’t need his appreciation! So long as you two are okay, then everything is fine with me!”

-Saku grabs her things and begins to walk away, calling to Kim Ji-Hoon over her shoulder

“Take care of them Ji-Hoon! I don’t like to see children upset… You make them cry, and you’ll definitely pay!”

Saku is working at the restaurant for a bit. She quickly gets discharged and gets a phone call from her second job

-Saku walks out of the restaurant and picks up the phone

“Hello?”

“Saku Hana? Is that you?”

“Speaking, manager… Do I need to come in for work?”

-Saku is worried by the sound of her manager’s voice

“Saku, please hurry…”

“Calm down… I’ll be right there!”

-Saku gathers her dress and holds her instruments tight as she races to her second job

-Barely able to breathe, Saku enters an art store

-She bows to her now pacing manager

-He greets her with instant bad news

“Saku, you’re going to lose your job!”

-Saku is dumbfounded

“Saku we lost all of our rich clients! No one is buying our art anymore!!”

-Saku can’t say anything. Her second job was needed. She was starting to panic.

“I can’t lose this job! I can’t… I have… I need… no, no, no, no… it can’t happen… what will I do? The restaurant doesn’t pay well…”

-Saku is beginning to break down. She can’t hold the stress down anymore

“NO!!! I can’t! The restaurant can’t hold me off! I can’t lose this!! I need the money!!”

-She falls down onto the ground and begins to shake

“I can’t lose this! How can this happen now?! Why am I losing so much now?!”

-Saku’s manager tries to comfort her

“We’ll find a way to save ourselves… please calm down…”

“I’m losing everything!! Why is life punishing me?! I’m going to die like this!!”

-Saku falls down on her side; she is in a cold sweat and she is shaking a lot more…

 -Saku’s manager begins to panic

“Saku, get a hold of yourself!!”

-Saku is crying nonstop and is holding herself on the ground

“I’ll mine as well die… mine as well die… just die and end it all… just-“

-Saku suddenly passes out

-Her manager runs out and calls for help

Saku is seen in a hospital and at her door, is none other than Kim Ji-Hoon with Amai. Saku is tossing and turning… being strapped down to the bed and all didn’t even seem to be helping her. She is completely out of it.

the art store was always popular with rich folk, but now, they seemed to stop buying... maybe lack of creativity nowadays?
