the red butterfly

the red butterfly

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

for Red

"
She drifted,
powder light --
struggling to
take flight --

she tumbled from the strain,
needing
shelter from the rain,
solace from the pain --

hoping she can see ...

a friend's outstretched hand,
a soft place to land;
a crutch when she's
too weak to stand,

so butterfly she once again can be.

I appreciate the review thanks.
Artwork.. Your poetry always makes me think of a painting.. Your pen is your brush thoughtfully applying each word like a stroke of paint upon a canvas!

I know, I really like the people who I have gotten to know in here.
A lovely tribute to Red 'M' with a well chosen metaphor to hang it on.

It's pretty much all I can do from this far away, but I am glad she liked it.
Well done. Both in the words, and also in the support.

Thanks so much, I appreciate your stopping in.
This is really beyond sweet… such a sentimental ode to a wonderful writer and individual. And I can see below how touched she was by your words.

Well it was so very sweet of you.
Oh my...
I read this then I cried...then smiled...then cried. Now I'm smiling again. Never know how I'll react to anything, its sort of like an emotional buffet. And they dont make antacids for that indigestion.
You are a wonderful friend and a great writer...and this is a beautiful poem. Much like the sun peeking through rainclouds to warm my battered wings. I really can't thank you enough....think I'll just rest here for a bit. x
