the heart songs

the heart songs

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

inspired by John Gabriel's The Pain of Poets, which reminded me of Weezer's Heart Songs

"
I remember the first time
I picked up a pen
and it was more than the
alphabet I strung together.

the lemon juice of emotion
uncovered the words on the page
filled with tears, angst and rage,
they saved me from my cage

as I stood at the front of the stage
tall and true,
and I told them about the
death of you.

they listened, they clapped,
and it changed my world --
the beginning of a journey
that doesn't end ...

from pen to pencil to typewriter,
to computer and pen again,
the heart songs of a
forever friend.

Just watched a lovely sad movie called 'Oranges and Sunshine' about an English social worker who in 1986 uncovered the deportation of 130,000 british children to Australia, many of whom ended up abused.

So humbled to have inspired such emotional and lovely verse. Brought tears to me.

I don't feel worthy 'M'
A true poet wears there heart on their sleeve, that is how people relate to you, cause you are real and they get what you feel because they feel that way too.

Thanks so much my friend. You, being a music dude, do you like this song? I think it's brilliant.

It is okay for being Weezer, not really a fan of theirs. I like the lyrics.
