insomnity

insomnity

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

insomnia is my enemy as well as my friend.:)

"
Insomnity
wanting so
bad to sleep
choosing instead
to paint my toes
to blow my nose
take a pill
dust the sill
anything
to cure it
anything
to endure it
furiously writing
endlessly biting
my nails
my greatest
source of aggravation
becomes an inspiration
a blessing
in a curse
prompts me
to write
a verse.

if insomnia can at least lead to a poem...then i guess it is something we poets don't mind putting up with, no?

sometimes we just have to let the muse have her way...

nicely done

Yes, and this insomnia one sure is a frequent visitor to my bed, not so for other things, ehem.
Is it an irony or what ? An aggravation becomes an inspiration...I like this alot...:)..............

Insomnity has been adopted by me as a word which I intend to use whenever if feels right. I certainly know what it feels like...I have tried most over the counter remedies at one time or another. Does the action of painting your toes get you off 'to sleep I mean, or does the acetone eventually knock ya out'?

There you are, two questions in one sentence and only one question mark ...... N

Wish I had some of that and had the time to contemplate my next verse, lol. Another flowing piece taking a common experience and describing it verse.

You know I can identify with this. I've never quite gotten around to dusting my windowsills, but man, next time that will be weighing on my mind.
