My heart for your smile

My heart for your smile

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

my attempt at a modern love sonnet

"

At first, there was a man, without a face;

A way to kill the pain, and have some fun,

I had a little time, and you, the place,

I knew not then, your love would equal none.

Sometimes a kiss, may only be a kiss,

Perhaps it blooms, becomes the something more,

And you became the one, to claim my bliss.

Your smiling eyes, for me, an open door.

Now knowing years, may dampen feelings new,

From yesterday till now, though time has passed,

My passion's flame remains, alive, for you!

I only hope our "we" is meant to  last --

Although you didn't see, right from the start,

Remember, that day, I gave you my heart.

Awwww....this is so sweetly romantic. Tender and gentle, this love sonnet was a joy to read, KL. I especially liked "Sometimes a kiss, may only be a kiss," because that is so true. It is when that kiss sparks a whole new world that it is special. Lovely. Lydi**

I am not into form poetry. I just know what works when I read it...and this worked.
Every now and again one comes across a poem that sidles-up warmly to the senses, embraces with sheer beauty and affection, inviting the heart to smile and dance along … and, mine surely does to the enchanting melody of love you've so graciously graced the page with, all the way to my romantic core, KL … wow!
What guy would not be thrilled to have such an enthralling composition created in homage to yours and his love and remembrances.
Gosh, KL, I just love it to pieces … you are sooo lovely in sooo many ways, and sooo talented!
It is such an enjoyment reading you and working with you on your poetry … I feel blessed.
On the techy side, there are some iambic issues we can address by message, if you've a mind to, but I love it, too, just as it stands for the wondrous love poem it is.

Thank you sincerely, deeply, and warmly for sharing You with Us! ⁓ Richard
