A magnificently beautiful story ... Some might say that it was sad to read, and did not have a happy ending ... But I say, this story is perfect in that perfect timing of two people meeting, clueless that they would ever meet, who needed someone special in their lives at that precise moment in time. She gave you something no one else ever could have, and you gave her more than you will ever know, even though you do know ... This story is tender and touching to the very core of any heart that has ever had a first crush or first love, especially someone as special as I see that she was to you ... And you to her ... A wonderful memorial to her memory in keeping her memory alive ... Thank you for sharing ... Very well written ...

This was so sad and touching; however, I agree with the review below, in the sense that it's still a beautiful story, showing the beautiful and very fortunate friendship of two people who seemed to have "clicked" really well. The sadness is only due to the fact that it couldn't last long -- though only the physical aspect of it (as memories live on forever, and she can live on in your heart till the end of time).

You've written it really realistically, which makes it all the more beautiful. Kudos to you!

Thank you D.T... it means a lot to me!
First I must say wonderful, I love how you gave chase and sara adult like quality. To feel such love at a young age, to have to deal with her cancer, to mend a friendship that blossom into a relationship that was a beautiful transformation. Also the story was very fluent the words just flow and the reader sees the world that you the author is displaying. I can't help but feel like it has some truth to it like the author actually experience this. The title is well fitting and the ending is expected which in it on way helps the reader understand why the blonde girl must leave chase. Though her death is still tragic but to not suffer anymore is well accept... Good work

A very good piece, I can actually relate to this, I had CML (a form of leukemia) when I was eight and got a bone marrow transplant when I was twelve. You did describe how it feels as a kid with cancer pretty accurately.

"Alvin the bully" and "bad stuff in my brain" made me smile.
I like how you show the beginning and end of their friendship.
