Previous Version
This is a previous version of The wandering boy.

That day in an Ice cream parlor

I saw a boy peeping from the little window,

A man drove him out.

He then disappeared.

The next day I found him nearby the road.

Gazing at the children going to school.

He wore shabby clothes,

But he again ran in despair.

At night, I found him lying on the pavement.

He murmured the only words:

‘’ Why they drove me out?

I want clean clothes to go to school.”

If you could answer his questions?

Slap on humanity!

Clear and simple, this piece lays it on the line. This boy is in every city, we all see him - and walk away. Excellent write.

You tell the story... and yet finish abruptly... The word arrangement can be done to give more impact on this verse:

That day,

In an ice cream parlor

I saw a boy peeping

From the window,

A man drove him out.

He then disappeared.

Next day,

I found him nearby the road.

Gazing at the children going to school.

He wore shabby clothes,

But he again ran in despair.

At night,

I found him lying on the pavement.

He murmured words:

‘’Why did they drive me out?

I want clean clothes to attend school.”

If you could answer his question:

Slap on humanity!

Of course, this is a quick edit... see the emphasis of the verse... and ability to react with the reader...

Good one, Deep and slap on humanity. Wonderfully carved and written.
I wish you could write a story on this rather going for poem ;)

Good luck must try - turn this to story and you will understand the importance of it :)

Cheers!
Singh :)

Poverty is difficult to witness no matter where that takes place. In a situation engaging missed opportunities for learning it is indeed sad. I take it young Devanshu that you may have heard of capitalism. Its the economic system we subscribe to in the world. It makes it possible for most children to go to school. That is an important consideration for everybody to continue the way we do things. A poem that's indicative of the growing up years.

The ending caught me out which was brilliant and it was great to see a subtle piece lead us to a hard edge abrupt finish. Top marks.
