it's just another song sung blue (or jukebox rejection)

it's just another song sung blue (or jukebox rejection)

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

it's just another song sung blue (or jukebox rejection)

i asked you to love me

and you politely declined

so i searched for another dance

but never got into rhythm

i was still moving

to the thought of you

J,
Don't seem to matter a whole lot seeing the partners usually aren't using the same moves in todays style of dance . . . at least it was that way when I hit the roadhouse!
I like your ending here . . . I often thought . . . just who am I dancing with? My original partner or someone else?!

J., this poem reminds me of listening to the radio alone on a long drive, but imagining myself in another place with a favorite person and music, unable to remember the last song that played and the last exit I passed. We move to the thought of others, sometimes when physically moving in another direction.

Sometimes the most simplest of thoughts can convey volumes of thought. This is one of them. A kaleidoscope of thoughts, wishes and what ifs that has played on a jukebox we have all known.

Aw, you have been listening to Neil Diamond as I have this week. Short poem, so much feeling in it. So much pathos. Very moving to read.

Ah sad, when that happens Jacob.

Maybe she just didn't like the way you danced ...

Those "polite declines" hurt worse than a slap.
Still, some dancers can't be replaced.
All too familiar, MR. J.

We always want the one we can't have, isn't that the truth? Great metaphor. Some move to the thought of another for a lifetime. Lydi**

Blimey Jacob this rejuvenated me to a nneteen yearl old when I qrote the following qhich popped into my head while reading A girl I've found
So full of grace
I love her profound
Not just her face
Nice to feel that young blood while reading your verse, coursing through my system
