Chapter SevenA Chapter by Harriet Styles
Previous Version This is a previous version of Chapter Seven.
I clutched the book to my chest as I ran down the hall and flung the cupboard open. It wasn't a cupboard at all. In fact, from what I could see, which was almost nothing, it was more like a small room. I heard someone coming up the stairs so I shut the door. Darkness surrounded me.
I took a step forward, tripped, and grabbed onto something causing whatever it was to fall on my foot. Ouch, I muttered. Slowly, I moved further into the darkness, hands outstretched. Up ahead a bright light shone down from above, eluding the darkness. I stood underneath it and looked up. It was a window.
