Winter’s Touch

Winter’s Touch

A Poem by Poetic Beauty
"

Written 1/12/2024

"
The frosty temperature seeps inside
Burrowing it way into your bones
Squeezing out the body’s natural warmth

The wind whips violently without ease
Scattering the Arctic snow everywhere
It’s biting fingers freezing everything

White frozen orbs scatter lifelessly
In a mindless contorting rhythm
Leaving nothing safe from its death grasp

This is actually one of my favourite writes of yours ,
it also reminds me that we have to have cold empty times for reflection and to know that a lovely more temperate mood will evolve from it ..
Winter to spring just sitting out the in-between moments.

I'm not a great admirer of winter. Its numbness and silence are deafening. I love how you decipher its characteristics with a beautiful poetic touch.

I do not like the cold and the snow. To me winter is barren; void of color.
Powerful work. Great use of the senses. I felt this one.

Me either.
Winter does indeed have its drawbacks. Of course, come August, we'll be yearning for the cool breezes.

I don’t mind the heat near as much. Really it doesn’t bother me until it get in the middle 90s
You describe a polar desert very well.

It's very well written, no wasted space... just enough to convey your message. Well done, this is good stuff.

I get cold chills just reading about it. My eldest daughter lives in the frozen north about 60 miles below the arctic circle...my granddaughter competes in dogsled races regularly. She told me proudly that she came in 7th in a five mile race and didn't turn her sled over once. And, she said, with two small dogs! She's eight and works with her loom weaving and a spinning wheel. I miss the lot of my grandkids forty-five hundred miles away but when my daughter calls and says it's thirty-five below zero there I'm like, wow, unbelievable that people live there. I reach for the thermostat if it drops below fifty outside. (laughing)

I can imagine living with temperatures like that as a normal. It get below zero here sometimes
The harsh and merciless cold. This could just be about the weather or a metaphor for the cold treatment we are subjected to by others

This about the cold weather but yes you are correct it could be about either topic
i hate that cold feeling in my bones and joints. i'm shivering as i read. a chilling dose of reality, maybe too real. definitely has bite and leaves its mark. makes us appreciate summer all the more although little consolation when we're freezing our fannies off ... :)
