On Your Heart

On Your Heart

A Poem by wordman

  On your heart,

i will leave my print,

not a lot,

but just a hint .

You will think of me,

when the time is right,

lying in your bed,

on a summers night.

Or maybe i`ll come,

from a flickering light,

from a candle burning

inside your mind.

Where i`ll be,

till the end of time,

tucked away in your heart

where we will never part...

You probably know I'm a fan of rhyme & rhythm, so this poem really strikes a chord with me. I love V1 especially for the way it sounds, as well as for the playful snappy message. This doesn't strike me as a romantic poem (which feel forlorn & longing), but more like a sassy repartee, an offer of friendship, from this narrator to the object of his affection. Very enjoyable! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Gosh, Ron 😳
You'll have all the ladies queuing and elbowing to be first in line, and all the gents envious of your romantic ways … that steal all the poetesses' hearts away.
This is sheer wonderment to the soul, My Friend, and the picture is perfection in harmony to your poem, as is Elvis … sheesh! You've done it all to a tee.
And, a nice rhythmic beat keeps the flow dancing right along.

You just keep getting better and better … amen. : )
Thank you for one truly inspiring poetic treat! ⁓ Richard 🍃

Such soulful wishes. It is all we can hope for. That somehow our lives mattered and that the love we have given will be forever held. Softly a love song. Thank you for this tender smile...
