I like the line from Caligula. I interpret that to mean...It's okay if they hate me as long as they fear me...but it reminds me of a concept argument I had once with a clergyman. I asked him what good was service to God if it came from fear and not love...he replied that service was service. But I do know we can't demand anything of love.
Hey Evelynn, I love your poetry. It speaks to me very deeply. Every poem conveys the emotion so well, and puts the reader inside your experience. (Or maybe that's just me and my broken heart talking, lol) Keep writing! I'm glad we're friends now! :)
