16 days until Christmas

16 days until Christmas

A Chapter by Emily B

Mama is not much happy with my hospitality yesterday. She says I should know better than to admit strangers to our home, even if they are wearing the blue uniform of our Union. She was further disgruntled by my opinion that somewhere my brothers were hoping for loving kindness from strangers in this holiday season. So I’ve retreated to my bedroom until her face returns to its normal composure. Some days I wonder if she understands my notions of Christian charity at all.
