Chapter 9: Give Me a Reason

“Explain yourselves this instant!” Cap screamed but, no one dared to answer him. “Well!”

Viris stepped forward “It’s my fault…”

“Huh?” everyone said

“My appearance seems to be the problem-”

“Guys there’s trouble!” V called in the intercom.

“Already?” Uchikina said

“But we just defeated the enemy once already!” Winter said

“What are you talking about,” V said “We have electrical problem.”

“Huh?” John said clueless

“That are job/work!” V yelled through the intercom making everyone cover their ears. “It’s somewhat are cover.”

“And we’re very good at it.” Viris pointed it out. She pushed a button on her watch changing her clothes it a uniform, her hair was in ponytail, and had glasses on. “Then if business calls it show time. If you all could follow me.”

“Huh?” the team said

“Oh,” the captain laughed “you thought you guys were going to sit here until someone cries for help or something.

Everyone went silent

“Oh my goodness you guys really thought you were going to just sit and wait!”

“Uh…no?” They all said at the same time

“You all answered that quite slowly” Cap eyed them down

“Um sir,” Viris said to him “We have a job to do. May we go?”

“Just go!” he shook his head as he left them to get ready

“Now if you please,” Viris pointed to the three buttons at the bottom of the scanner/watch “press the middle button to turn your outfits.”

All of them looked at their watches one by one they pressed the button. A flash formed around them changing them into their working uniforms.

Uchikana and Winter were wear uniforms similar to Viris’ but Uchikana was were heels while winter was wearing buss. John and Tsuyoi were wearing jump suits. The top part connected to the jump suit was tied around John waist as Tsuyoi’s was just unzipped showing his tank-top.

“Why am I wearing a dress!!?” Winter yelled

“Huh?” Viris was confused

“What are you talking about Winter? You look nice in a uniform” Uchikana said to her

“This the first time I ever seen her looks like she cares” Tsuyoi pushed his glasses up

“What was that you little prick?!” she stepped forward.

“Wait a minute Winter” Uchikana was pulling her away from her brother.

“What’s the matter Winter?” John laughed “You’re afraid to look like a real girl?”

“That is it!” Winter was about to hit him but Viris step in the middle.

“Please stopped the fighting or…you…won’t get compensation!” Viris said and everyone stopped looking her.

“What do you mean ‘Compensation’?” Winter arched an eyelash

“Um…you guys get…paid” she nervously smiled

“You mean Cash payment?” John smiled

“Yes” Viris answered

Many years ago

“Give me a reason to live” he asked the little girl

“Why do you need a reason?” she smiled to him

“The things that do to me here…Is it worth being here?”

“I don’t understand?”

“Do I belong in cage?”

“This is a cage?” Her smiled disappeared “I thought this kept you safe?”

“You too young to understand…” he looked away from her

“Raven?” she called to him “Do you…hate me now?”

“When did I say that?” he looked at her and was surprised to see tears on her eyes “What is that on your face?”

“Huh?” The girl herself was surprised to see her face was wet “Oh…um…I don’t know…”

“Are you somewhat people call…Lying?” Raven asked her

“Um…No?” she lied again

“You seem very unsure”

“Honey where are you?” Mrs. Victoria walked around spotting her

“Mommy is that you?”

“Why are you in here?” Victoria asked

“I wanted to see him” she said sadly “he looks so lonely Mama!”

“But if someone would have caught you in here…” she looked around 

“we will be in serious trouble and your father is going to get punished.”

“Punished?” the girl asked as Victoria quickly covered her mouth when 

she settled she whispered “Is daddy getting more holes in his arm?”

“I can’t tell you” she softly said she cornered her eye to Raven

“Mama what’s wrong?” Victoria walked pasted her daughter to face Raven.

“Soon” she said him as she picked her daughter up

Raven was unsure what she was talking about

“Mama Can you please wait?” she begged her

“What is it honey?” Victoria asked

The girl whispered something in her ear.

“You want to say that to him?” Victoria said

The girl shuck her head nervously

“I-I don’t think that he’ll understand.”

“Think that I won’t understand what?” Raven looked at the girl. The girl looked at her mother feeling scared. She breathe slowly at looked him and said,

“I love you Raven!”

Raven stared at her feeling something warm. Suddenly Victoria heard a noise, people were coming.

“Honey we have to go.” Victoria rush her

“But mama what about raven?” the girl asked but Victoria quickly ran the other way leave the two to only to stare at each other. Raven said something but the girl wasn’t able to hear him as the door connected to his cell shut on her.
