Extraordinary afternoon

Extraordinary afternoon

A Poem by willweb

~

Where can it be, that my mind has taken me,

as this pathway comes and goes,

causing open doors to close

What’s this I feel, in these hours I conceal,

like a pattern on a shelf,

standing right beside myself

I find that . . .

She’s the morning when you hear that tune,

like a Thursday in the month of June,

or a daisy learning how to bloom,

on a

extraordinary afternoon

She’s the . . .

freshest corner of the atmosphere,

like a river running bold and clear,

climbing mountains while you have no fear,

when your

prayers are answered and you have her near

it’s here . . .

in the rainy scene,

like a magazine,

painted tangerine

and a shade of green

with a caring smile,

in her special style,

laughing all the while,

every dusty mile

Whose up ahead, underneath a sky of red

when the twilight comes to call,

in the shadows of it all

How can I know, if my song is sure to flow,

like an echo on the wing,

that will make her spirit sing

I guess I’ll  . . .

chase the lightning as the thunder roars,

find a rainbow as my heaven pours,

take her hand and lead her on the way

to the,

garden entrance planted yesterday

Tell her . . .

she is all that I will ever need,

every hunger that I long to feed,

yellow roses in a full moon beam

glowing

effervescent on my midnight dream

She’s my . . .

extraordinary afternoon

You are welcome Will.
A delightful afternoon of daydreaming, which I do all the time.... you portray such lovely images of nature,
enchantment, finding your path to infatuation, singing about rainbows, "chasing lightening as the thunder roars" you bring the outdoors to life as if it's a person...beautiful metaphors form an excellent poet

You're very welcome dear friend

"when your prayers are answered and you have her near..."

No... please..., I can't think anything better expression of love exists than this... seems a lover boy's heart is singing for his beloved one. Have you ever heard of the nightingale and the red rose poem....??? Where the nightingale expresses the boy's love to his beloved by her beautiful voice? I'm pretty sure , if the nightingale have voice, then this(your work) must be her words for the beloved.

Beautifully penned with lots of love. Seems you are in love again... lol.

Enjoy your lo.

Thank you so very much for your kind thoughts on my poem. I am happy you enjoyed it.
If you were a painter, your brush would be a feather and your paint would be sunlight. You always write with such a deft; yet, delicate hand, blending light and sky into your words.

Thanks so much Ken. I appreciate your visit
enchanting story telling ... last verse and closing especially creative to me .. did you put this to music? .. i wonder because of the easy rhyming ... almost sing song .. except the last verse .. love the yellow roses in full moon beam glowing .. nothing better than a good friend and companion on a lazy afternoon .. no matter the storms that pass
