how long?

how long?

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

I am not sure where this one came from

"
If he  knew the inside,
would it change a thing or
make him run and hide?
The words she keeps on lock down,
the secrets she mouths silently
into his chest as she breathes him in ...
how long will she wait in the dark
for him to capture another's heart,
so she can stand aside
and let the love of her life
slide.

You have captured your thoughts and expressed them so well, it brought similar memories to my mind of love that hurt and brought uncertainty, fearing to make our voice heard for that dreaded trepidation of rejection

You are very welcome
In the night you hear me grinding - sharper, sharper, sharper yet. The heart itself is soft and tender, ah, but the ribs- the ribs are hard and tough.

That is brilliant. And here I thought clever man was an oxymoron :)
Hard to tell is true emotion will push him away, but if it does, it was not meant to be. You have to jump....the safety net tends to appear when it is necessary. Good write. Lydi**

Love makes us vulnerable and showing our true colors is most times not that easy, fearing rejection of who and what we are really all about. I know this one...

Yes, it does, and this is a little bit of a supposition and conjecture type poem
i know where this came from i think...it seems a part two of a previous poem...she stands aside rather than fighting for him...when she knows the other is wrong for him.
