crushing on you

crushing on you

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

sometimes there is no reason, only rhyme

"
She doesn't know why
he intrigues her so.

She doesn't know why
she doesn't want to know.

Lost inside his thoughts
words that slide into her
easily ...

Maybe it is because
he is a world away.

that makes him safe.

Or maybe it is because
he would never like her
that way ...

that makes him unattainable.

In spite of all that
he makes her heart patter
in a very unique way ...

Outside your door with a defibrillator, noticed there was no pitter in your patter, that could be lethal in the horizontal position.

The language is lovely. The imagery is very much the conversation of nuances trying on seductive intimate wear, knowing they will never be willing to pay the price, or dare to wear it in public.
This is a sensual playful tease of a poem, and its wonderful just to enjoy its pleasure.

Thank you for perusing this little piece. Funny, it brought back a lovely memory.:)
So I guess there's no sense in asking if the "she" is you and the "he" is somebody on this site - smile. Why are you being a tease KL-smile? The very fact that you profess that you are not telling make inquiring minds want to be all up in your business ;).

indeed it can, especially when the object of one's crush is a little oblivious:)
A longing for someone... expressed beautifully in this poem with very sweet word play.

Thanks so much for your review.
Go on tell,

I am back but almost blind so will be briefer than I actually intended to be.
This little peach of a poem is really very special, it flows so well, its clean,
well stated, perhaps even understated. It will make the reader think, ponder and reflect.. I am also sure that it will be re-visited from time to time by many, including myself, my literary friend.

Your very welcome.
mmm...understanding this concept too well... sometimes it is not knowing why that makes it all the more exciting. Incised by a mind and spirit, it is so much harder to control those kind of crushes, in my opinion. Wonderful write, as always. :)
