Us, who love to write Jacob. We adore words and we adore memories. I liked the honest tone of your words. Us, who love to write. We want more and we cannot have her. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

this poem reminds me of a conversation I had many years ago. An friend of a friend at a party hearing I was poetically inclined opined that Poet's in order to be good have to have an innate sense of the heart. I was somewhat baffled by this, but on reflection I told her, "no, not really, we're just infinitely more cruel in how we go about sharing our heartbreaks with the world."

I thank God I'm not good at love poems. It would require a bit of expertise on a subject I know very little of even as an older man. Which I readily admit. This artful piece of poetry says so much on the subject and perhaps lingers a question on the intent of those who are driven to write effusively about it. Such art is alluring but so to was a particular apple to Adam and we saw where that led. Perhaps there is a bit of envy in me for not being able to create wonderous work that speak to our most virtuous of virtues and most human of emotions. In someway a part of me wants to side with the snake as a voice of reason as well as temptation. When it comes to love be weary what you ask for, because it may be more than one should know. Excellent poem J. You know the work is good when you have other artists pondering its message and the relevance of it in themselves. This piece lingers with me in a good way.

This sounds like it could have been written as the prequel to the song, "Wicked Games", be very careful of whom to believe no matter what they show or say. Yes, only love can break a heart so be sure from the very start.
