REPATRIATION

I met him in a certain crossroad
We looked into each other
I smiled at him
He smiled back at me
And that was the beginning of my happy days.

We always talk
Of some silly things
And some serious ones
We laughed
We cried
In each others' stories
And that was the time I thanked God for another angel in my life.

He left
But he made a promise to come back
Then I waited
Even my heart is in agony
I still held on to his words
I believed
I trusted
Once more
And that was the beginning of another misery.

But I never gave up
I waited
I hoped
I wished
Until a letter came to me
And that was the continuation of my hopes and dreams-
My happy days
Which are about to resume
