Mistake

A Chapter by Kaity Fisher

It was just a mistake

Two stupid parents

Who don’t even know

How to be parents.

Two kids, only one planned.

One a troublemaker

One that’s never home.

Addiction leads to destruction.

Dysfunction leads to be broken.

One family forced with

Broken hearts,

Broken smiles.

You can’t fix mistakes,

This family,

Our happiness.

It was just a mistake.

It was just a mistake.

I am just a mistake.

It was just a mistake

One stupid night

Two stupid parents.

One that’s never home,

One a drug addict.

You can’t get over addiction

Addiction leads to destruction.

Broken smiles

Broken facades.

You can’t fix what’s been broken.

You can’t fix mistakes.

Our happiness

Is forever lost.

It was just a mistake

You became parents.

It was just a mistake.
