The Free, The Brave

The Free, The Brave

A Chapter by Kenneth The Poet

We, the people, fail

to see the skidding tracks in

the rearview mirror,

a crumbling infrastructure,

a shell of its former self.

The Grecian model,

a balloon about to burst,

seen on these free shores

in the form of collapsing

Ponzi schemes, homes made of cards.

The housing market

and the dot-com disaster

only pale to the

bomb call'd our own solvency,

our tarnished credit rating.

No amount of speech

wil save the American

ideal of freedom,

since the foreign powers own

us all outright and wholesale.

Sold out, distracted

and deeded to the highest

bidder, this people

call'd We, call'd Us, call'd The Free

are call'd no longer The Brave.

The brave are serving a government that had little concern for them. A lot of truth in your words. Our freedom had been took and few give a damn. A strong ending to a excellent chapter.
