squirrels in her attic

squirrels in her attic

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

scritching and scratching

"
Scritching and Scratching
through the holes in her mind
they reach the attic
and take up residence
and live with her there.
swallow the warfarin,
sickly sweet,
it offers only a temporary reprieve;
more are always waiting
to take the place
of the dessicated corpses
tossed aside and torn apart

call the exterminator,
it's the third time
they've infested her heart.

I shot the raccoons the third time they got in the garage...
Dang it, but they have no business there.
Squirrels are different I guess... I hear they make a fine stew... taste like rabbit.

Ok... I think I am proving your point here. ;)

Squirrels are fine. As long as they stay out of the attic.:)
You are a clever writer! It feels this way a lot of times, but for some reason, it always makes good writings. :)

Sisters through writing. Love you, dear! xo :)
This is crazy! I'm not sure it makes any sense to me at all, but maybe there's an analogy here that is flying too high over my little, ignorant head. You lost me with the dessicated corpses, I'm afraid. You had me until that point, though. Highly entertaining otherwise. I could almost identify with the scritching and scratching and holes in the mind. Mine is worse than swiss cheese sometimes!

Yes, and unfortunately a side effect of Coumadin isn't death for those nasty critters.
