the race

the race

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

time perception

"
so quickly I rushed
into another man's
arms

so abruptly that
it sets off all your
alarms

so silently I succumbed
to a stranger's
charms

time elapses
memory;
how speedy
was the race?

Give or take
a day or two

it was
eighteen years
till someone
took your
place.

There was a movie titled " Fools Rush In " but I guess if you are in love or infatuated. There's nothing that can stop you for getting the biggest and coolest fish that swim in the ocean ..

We should race to each other from now on. Ha! Time is such a strange concept, seemingly simple, but seemingly never steady. xo (:

Cheers to the girls, for sure!
Jumping from one flame to another is truly aided by forgetfulness: I was inspired to write my own version of your wonderful poem which you may keep as a gift. It sings like song:

Eclipsed Memory

Suddenly he fled,
to another’s arms,
turned her mood to red,
set off her alarms.

It took time to shed
his emotive harms
from her heart and head,
all those magic charms.

My pleasure...Any time...:)........................
at one time, for me it was twenty years...as the carpenters sang "it's going to take some time this time"---

time elapses at different speeds on different individuals' eyes.

It certainly does. Thanks.
Time seems to fly by in good time but creep along in times of loneliness. I can certainly relate to this piece quite well.
